Pros: Gritty, truthful, with memorable characters Cons: Absolutely nothing
Lets start off with the cast: Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Christian Slater, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, Michael Rappaport, Samuel L. Jackson, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, and that little guy from "Perfect...

Pros: see review Cons: see review
The appeal of "True Romance" is that it has no appeal. Its offbeat nature gives the film its hook, but the motions it goes through often become overwhelming.
We meet Clarence (Slater), who isn't your typical movie hero because...

Pros: Violent, Non-PC Entertainment Cons: Violent, Non-PC Entertainment
If you don't understand the title it is cause you haven't seen this movie.
This has to be my favorite action movie ever!!!! Just seeing Gary Oldman in dreads is enough, who would've thunk he could pull that off so well.
Girls--Brad...

Pros: casting, dialog, story, you name it Cons: no such thing as a con here
Everyone knows that there are lots of sites on the internet with *.wav files culled from movies, everyone's favorite lines. I want an mp3 of this entire movie, every single line, I don't care if I have to buy a new hard drive to hold it and 512 megs more...

Pros: Acting, directing, script, story, characters Cons: can get pretty violent, cursing, drug use
Written by Quentin Tarantino (the director of "Kill Bill" and "Pulp Fiction") and directed by Tony Scott (director of "Top Gun") brings another gory movie in the alignment of other Tarantino stories. This movie is called True Romance, a movie that ...

Pros: It was a movie that was very entertaining Cons: There wasn't nearly enough of Val Kilmer, Brad Pitt, or Christopher Walken
The movie starts of quite slow with main man clarence (christian slater) sitting in a bar on his birthday hitting on a blonde that isn't interested in seeing kung fu movies with him. After the opening credits, Clarence's life begins to change. After ...

Pros: great actors Cons: too violent, screenplay not so good
I am really shocked that so many people recommend this movie. In fact 94% (!!!) from them recommend it. I'm really wondering why? For its violence? For a Quentin Tarantino screenplay? I don't know why.
My opinion is in completely contradiction with...

Pros: Great Cast, Great Acting, Great Dialogue Cons: may be a bit extreme for some
True Romance: Wow, what a cast. Denis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, James Gandolfini, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt and Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Rapaport and a cast against type Bronson Pinchot and I'm not sure if Val...

Pros: Cast, Crew, Plot, the whole movie is a pro Cons: Balkie
I find it hard to believe that The Washington Post, as such an established and respected reviewer, could come up with the review that they did. True Romance is one of my all time favourite movies. The cast is brilliant, and characters are well rounded...

Pros: An all-star cast that form a tight alliance of not so similar characters. Pitt as a pot-head, Walken as a stylish gangster, and Val Kilmer as a mystery man. Cons: The film is extremely violent and is by no means suitable for impressionable youngsters. It gives off an impression that killing is O.K. if the person being killed is a "bad" person.
When this film originally came out on video, it was recommended to me by my friend who had an extreme obsession with Elvis. For this reason alone I was intrigued by the film. Little did I know that "the King" was not the most relevant part of...

Pros: Unique story, Great acting, Great music Cons: that it wasn't longer!
How many times a year do people ask you what your favorite movie of all time is?
I'm always proud to say True Romance. Not only because the movie through and through wonderful, but because I'm usually telling people about a movie they've...

Pros: Amazing story line, keeps your interest. Cons: The accent of Arquette, at times, gets on my nerves.
This is a movie that takes you on a ride that you will never forget. You have a hooker, a man who has Elvis as his guardian angel, and hundreds of pounds of cocaine for sale. Christian Slater again plays an outstanding role, and doesn't get much credit...

Pros: So many good actors, Walken, Hopper, Gandolfini, Slater, Pitt, Arquette .... Cons: The shower scene where Patricia Arquette gets the crap beat out of her.
This is by far my all-time favorite movie. I remember when this was out at the theater's, it must have been the underrated sleeper hit of the century because no one wanted to see it or talked about it. I psyched myself into going to see it on an...

Pros: Gratuitous violence, Slater's best movie, many very recognizable names and faces Cons: Gratuitous violence
This is a movie you can watch 4, 5, 6 times!! Some scenes you wanna' watch over and over again!!
The most enjoyable scene in the movie comes in the form of some light banter between Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper. This is a scene the...

Pros: Every single scene! Cons: Not a single one.
With the exception of the well-written review by Jack Sommersby I just read, I have never met a single person who doesn't absolutely love this movie. Being that it was released without a lot of fanfare, most people I talk to have never heard of True...
