Pros: Story, dark humor, direction, acting. Cons: Narration makes us a tad too detached from the action.
I don't like violent movies and I'm not going to beat myself up about it. However, I enjoyed Fight Club. Pre-viewing jitters: Don't get me wrong, some of my favorite movies have violent content. The ones I have trouble enjoying are ...

Pros: Fight Club is my generation's landmark film. Its direction, its acting, its writing, everything about it makes it so impressive. Cons: Some of the film's execution of the novel's set pieces were interpreted incorrectly or removed altogether.
I know you. You're a young guy with clear skin and perfect teeth and the kind of job you're proud to write the alumni association about. You're too young to have fought in any wars and if your parents weren't divorced, then your father was probably...

Pros: Good story, acting, narration, and interesting plot twist at the conclusion Cons: None.
I’ve avoided watching this film steadily for years. Friends have sung its virtues to my unheeding ears. Oh yes, I assured them, I’m sure that it’s well done and all that malarkey, but a club dedicated to fighting? As Austin Powers would ...

Pros: I've never in my LIFE loved and hated a movie at once with such passion!!! Cons: The more you attack it, the stronger it gets.
"On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero." What is it abou ...

Pros: Norton, Pitt, story Cons: None
Ah…Fight Club. I thought it was about time to write a review on one of the best movies ever released and now it’s the time. Ever since 1999 when it came out I had been hearing from everyone how good this movie was, but in my eyes it looked a ...

Pros: great DVD to own, 6th sense-like surprise ending, well directed movie Cons: depends on your tastes, a bit excessive on violence in certain areas
I've looked around for the most part on the internet and found a number of people who understood the movie and enjoyed it. At the same time I've found a number of people who simply hated it with a vengence saying it promoted violence and all that other...

Pros: Terrific Satire. Cons: Many people don't get the satire.
Some people may disagree with me on this. But I view Fight Club to be the late 1990s version of Bonfire Of The Vanities. Thankfully, it is far closer in quality to the original Tom Wolfe novel than to the now infamous big-screen version that came out...

Pros: Excellent acting, a mindwarp experience Cons: doesn't really make sense
Going back three years ago, a month or two after September 11th, I was a late beginner at Media Studies A-Level at College in suburban Lancashire. It was a study course that changed the way I looked at films and society, and in many ways it gave me the ...

Pros: Sensually overwhelming, this is one of the best-written and best-directed films of 1999 Cons: It's also one of the most senselessly violent
Fight Club is a smack in the face.
It’s a slap up-side your brain.
It’s a roaring locomotive of a motion picture, chugging down the tracks while you’re tied to the rails.
It’s a cinematic cup of coffee, fueled with ten teaspoons of...

Pros: Just about everything. Cons: One revelation isn't so shocking.
Fight Club is a great movie in ways people can't even begin to understand. It is best, I suppose, for people like my dad (a big fan of it), because it speaks so well to a generation of men who have "all been raised on television to believe that ...

Pros: Sex, Violence, and deep psychological insight. Brad Pitt in a single glove...and nothing else... Cons: Violence. Violence and the glorification of Violence.
Fight Club (1999) Directed by David Fincher"This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time."Chuck Palaniuk's novel is brought to life, much like Baron Victor's little science project. There is a lot going on ...

Pros: A few clever qualities, if that's enough for you. Cons: See review
Every pretentious gimmick utilized by this self-consciously clever flick grated on my nerves, beginning with the unfunny opening segment where Edward Norton's character backtracks to the point where he attended testicular cancer meetings. At best, the...

Pros: It's a good story and the acting is very good. Cons: Very disturbing movie - extreme violence, anti-social behavior, sexual situations, very crass language.
I’ve mostly been impressed with Brad Pitt’s acting skills. Despite the fact that many women go ga-ga over him, he has always demonstrated true talent and the ability to portray a lot of different roles.
Probably my favorite movie with Pitt is...

Pros: acting, direction, visuals, satirical humor, disturbingly memorable Cons: may deter those uncomfortable with graphic violence
It was very easy for me to initially dismiss Fight Club as simply a boy movie. Blood, sweat, guts. If we take a look at the basic structure we have 2 frustrated boys forming a club so they and other frustrated boys can beat the brains out of each...

Pros: Superb acting from the main playes as well as supporting actors Meatloaf and Helena Bonham Carter. Fincher starts the film intense and never lets up. Cons: The frenetic filming style is not your mainstream style and will turn off those who shorter attention spans. The high level of violence is the reason that all kids are bad. Shame of David Fincher.
Hello one and all. This is my humble installment into the Donlee Brussel hosted write-off commemorating the one-year anniversary of the theatrical release of the David Fincher film "Fight Club."
"The things you own end up...
