Pros: Good storytelling, cool premise Cons: Sometimes a little too low budget
Because I was a fan of the movie, I always wanted to check out the Stargate SG-1 series. However, I never had Showtime at the time when it first aired, and I eventually missed so many of the early seasons that I wanted to go back and watch them ...
Pros: Entire first season of a consistantly good Sci-Fi series in one set. Cons: Video quality from episode to episode is a mixed bag.
I had heard many good things about this series from friends but since I didn't have cable at the time, I never had a chance to see this show in its first run on Showtime. I had to wait until it was aired in syndication before I had the chance to catch it...
Turning a movie into a TV show isn’t an easy thing. Movies are meant to last for a few hours while a good TV show will hopefully go on for many, many seasons. When the movie Stargate was first made into a TV show, I hadn’t really ...
Pros: 21 episodes including the pilot, some DVD extras, excellent acting and stories Cons: no detailed commentary regarding the episodes; lackluster features
Stargate has ended its tenth season, and now direct-to-video movies are being made. I have never seen Stargate SG-1 Season One in its entirety. That's why I purchased this DVD collection (five discs containing all 21 episodes of Season One and ...
Pros: Strikingly good series, better than the movie and stronger first season than most tv. Cons: A few weak shows, but it is their first season.
I am a veteran sci fi fan. I have been to the conventions, but I have not worn ears. I would have been watching this show from the beginning if I had had the cable channel it aired on. The movie Stargate I have seen a number of time and always felt that ...
Pros: Great concepts, intriguing characters, great acting, fun aliens Cons: A few story weaknesses, weak video quality, not a lot of extras
Note that this will spoil the ending of the Stargate movie. Who knew that when the movie Stargate came out that it would eventually spawn one of the longest running sci-fi series ever? The movie wrapped everything up pretty nicely, Ras dead, ...
Pros: Stories, characters Cons: Video and sound quality
This TV series is based on a movie "Stargate" which was directed by Roland Emmerich in 1994. In the movie, scientists discover a mysterious ring in the Egyptian desert. The ring is somehow brought to USA military secret base in Cheyenne mountain. The ...
Pros: no bad language, no nudity, good action, great characters Cons: can be expensive,
Stargate Sg-1 is a great science fictions series. This is the first installment of this soon to be record breaking series. This first season gives you twenty one episode to sit back and enjoy time and time again. Start with disc one and the ...
Pros: Great action and adventure, family friendly humor, amazing settings Cons: poor picture quality, not enough extras
Great first season and continuation of the 1995 movie. The plot is intriguing and offers such a wide spectrum in which to make a story its no wonder this show has lasted now 10 seasons. I like the mix of Goa'uld focused shows versus "planet exploration" shows. They did a nice job replacing James Spader with Michael Shanks for the role of Daniel and make the pilot well enough that those who havent seen the movie knew what was going on. They keep enough "techno-babble" in the story line that you kind of get to drift of whats going on but its not enough to drown you in it scientific terms. The show offers appropriate family friendly humor and show premises. I disliked the fact that season one as hardly no extras and the quality was often times grainy. Occasionally you can really notice that the same set being used over and over again.
The Stargate is an intergalactic gateway, developed by an ancient civilization, that links other planets from other solar systems to ours. The U.S. Ai...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
