In a nutshell: too long; too many close shots; they show the ring on an open palm about 30 times - c'mon... give me a break...

When this movie was first released I went to see it in the theater. The movie itself was considerably long, (around 3hours). The only great thing I remember that I particularly liked was the scenery. Everything was so beautiful. The story line itself...

Pros: Watch it, you won't regret it.

Everything is just wonderful. They redefine the word "Perfect". From cast to special effects, you will watch it breathless.

Pros: Is a better movie with additional footage, great film quality, and excellent sound.
Cons: None! Unless you have to watch every single documentry and waste your time (like me).

First, how can you argue with over a half hour of deleted scenes... which all make every scene better. And, each and every one of the scenes is done in the same quality as every film you saw in the original version. These scenes add better character depth and better understanding of the story.

The two movie discs contains excellent commentaries, all in which should be watched by any fan of the movie.

Also, the documentaries are loaded with deep and informative info. Sure there are a lot which many people aren't going to go through, but they're still excellent in their own respect.

This film was my favorite film of 2002 and I believe should have beaten out Ron Howard's A Beautiful Mind. Now, with an improved movie and greater character development, the movie is a no brainier as one of the greatest films of our generation. Added to that, the film has near perfect video quality and sound.
