Pros: Original concept, profiling is a cool topic Cons: Lame 2nd half, over-elaborate killings, just plain dumb
Mindhunters takes a very cool and original concept and runs it into the ground with a lame plot and bad dialogue. I’m surprised the FBI even helped out with this movie. Were they not shown the script? I know that some branches of the military will ...
Pros: Good pacing, decent acting, something a little different Cons: Plausibility suffers in retrospect.
Seven rookie FBI agents and one cop are set down on a small island fifty miles off shore for a sort of final exam in cracking serial killing cases. All the rookies covet the prestigious profiler position, so the stakes are high for each of them. Left ...
Pros: Clever construction. Moody visual design. Cons: Lackadaisical performances. No human characters.
It has just been so busy here at Chateau Maine as I try to put my life and world back in order following my stay at that dreadful Gitmo all inclusive tropical resort this past year. Invoices and bills are piled all over the furniture. There is a ...
Pros: Death setups. Cons: L.L. Cool J cannot be killed.
It is a little sad that Renny Harlin's Mindhunters is being remembered more for being a pawn in the Miramax and Walt Disney divorce and for it countless canceled release dates than it is for being a fairly well acted, taunt, psychological ...
Pros: acting, fresh idea, cinematography Cons: some factual errors in the traps, ending sputters a bit.
I am a big fan of Val Kilmer and Christian Slater and was excited when they came out with what seemed like it could be a good film. School kept me busy and I wasn't able to see it until my husband and I rented this weekend. It was a good rental, but I ...
Pros: Some tense moments, decent performances Cons: Goes a bit overboard at the end.
The latest from director Renny Harlin ("Deep Blue Sea"), "Mindhunters" sat on the shelf for a long time, locking in one release date and then being moved to another. The film focuses on a group of FBI profilers-in-training, who are lead by instructor ...
Pros: The direction is flashy and dark, and the booby traps are imaginative. Cons: It's preposterous, which would have been fine, if it gave us a good payoff.
Recently I saw Val Kilmer on Carson Daly, and yes, I'm such a big Kilmer follower that I will even watch him on Carson Daly. During the midst of this ten minute interview, Kilmer was the typical Kilmer on these comedy chat shows, meaning he was, as Jon ...
Pros: The special effects are pretty cool, particularly the first murder Cons: Kilmer and Slater's talents wasted, viewer must willingly suspend 75% of IQ to watch this
I don't own this movie, I rented it, or rather, my wife rented it because she thought it might be something I'd like. And I did rather enjoy it toward the end. As the overwhelming silliness and improbabilities were heaped higher and higher, I just had to ...
Pros: Great suspense and a plot that keeps you guessing the whole movie. Cons: Could use some editing and should not have been as long.
One of the more interesting releases in January is this Agatha Christie-esque serial killer thriller about trainee FBI profilers being killed off on an isolated island. Recently 'Mikey' caught a sneak peek and here's his take: "I recently saw the new ...
Mindhunters is a pretty good film! by filmman4 ,Dec 06 '03
Pros: keeps you guessing, thrilling, music and sets work magic here, some good action Cons: the few name actors disappear pretty soon
I saw Mindhunters in a preview and was surprised to be quite thrilled by the whole thing. To tell u the truth I wasn't expecting too much but happened to actually like the end product. It is a nicely crafted film and offers many twists and turns that were hard to see in advance. A scene with electricity and water had me really involved and the music too was so tense that I just about fell off my seat... All in all an exellent thriller, not the best in the world but far superior from average. LL Cool was cool and the dark soundtrack was the best in ages, have no idea who made the music but it really contributed to the film as well as the gloomy sets and thankfully the lack of glamour and make-up on the actors who are supposed to be FBI profiler trainees and not supermodels.
An elite group of the FBI's most talented young profilers -- agents skilled in reading the minds of the most elusive serial killers -- is being intens...More at HotMovieSale.com
