Solo Buceo

Pros: Great location in relationship to the reef. Excellent staff. Great value for the money.
Cons: Boat was uncovered, but short time spent on the boat more than offset this.

By far one of the best diving operations I have been on. The equipment was a little worn but everything worked as it was supposed to. The boat was the smallest that I have ever dove from but it did not detract from our trip. The Dive Masters and everyone that worked for them made my daughter and I have one of the most pleasurable dives imaginable. These people were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and safety conscious. The trip out to the reef was short and allowed us to do two dives without using much of our valuable time while in Cancun. I am comparing this dive to dives that we have done in Hawaii and the Great Barrier Reef and it ranks right there with the best - mostly due to the employees of Solo Buceo. We are planning on returning to Cancun and will definitely dive with Solo Buceo again.

Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, small dive groups, very professional.
Cons: Some of the gear looked used but well maintained nonetheless

I was in Cancun for just two days. I tried to go diving with Aqua World but could not because they were fully booked. Luckily, the concierge at the hotel I was staying at knew of Solo Buceo and was able to book the dive through them. The DM was very knowledgeable and friendly. I really enjoyed myself. In the end I was glad that I went with them because while out I noticed that the Aqua World boat was loaded with divers. Whereas with me on my boat it was just me. From now on when I go to Cancun I will only dive with Solo Buceo!

Pros: great divemasters, good value for money
Cons: Some equipment perhaps not the newest but worked OK.

We dove with Solo Buceo on our last dive and had a fantastic experience. The DM's are fantastic, provided close support and lots of attention to detail. We dove two sites, one a 80' wreck and a bit shallower reef dive for our second dive. They use their dive computers to keep track of surface intervals, and were very good with planning safety stops on the way up for their older divers.
Very professional, nice boat, attention to detail and great value for the $$$. We felt safe, were impressed with the service and learned a bit along the way.
