AEG Lavamat 16810 Front Load All-in-One Washer / Dryer

Pros: Build Quality, ease of use, and intelligent control design.
Cons: slight difference of colour on different materials.

Build quality and the ingenious design are truly excellent. I am a Mechanical Engineer that used to work for Hotpoint, and after both my Hotpoint machines died far too early, I looked elsewhere.
I am really impressed with the Fuzzy Logic control system. The machine measures and adjusts most things on-the-fly (load balance, water pressures, amount of detergent, saturation of drier air, etc.) A very clever bit of Control Design.
Additionally, the build quality is truly first-rate. Much like German cars, the build quality and attention-to-detail far exceed that of their competition.
I think that I will be a loyal AEG white goods buyer from now on.
The only thing that I can pick at is that the white finish on the different materials on the front are not the same colour -- i.e., the plastic kick plinth at the bottom of the unit is a slightly (I am being picky here) different shade to the surrounding pre-coat metal panels. Excellent machine. No regrets.
