Apple iBook 12.1 in. (M7698LL/C) Mac Notebook

Pros: small light, great battery life, great OS, great design
Cons: video memory low, hard drive small

Apple doesn't make the 500MHz model anymore but I've had one since new and have used it about 5 hours a day for three years. Great machine. Excellent choice for the majority of users, all but the most ardent power users. I manage a Novell network at an all PC school and I use my iBook all day long! Beautiful OS (Panther at this point- 10.3) stable plays well with PCs. I've had a few issues with mine over the years but Apple has promptly addressed each one to my satisfaction. You should buy a Mac for Apple's customer service alone! I would recommend buying the AppleCare extended warranty for any laptop, they get beat. I got over 5 hours of use out of one battery charge last week too, my Dell laptop can't do an hour, what good is laptop that won't last an hour? The wireless is the bomb too, at my house and coffee shops it's very cool to have wireless internet and printing and file sharing. I need a new one though, this model with only 8MB of video can't do games very well. 10Gig drive fills up quick too.
