The BEST mixer
by cathyschlim ,Mar 26 '05
Pros: Pros, huh? Everything is a pro! Cons: The unit is large.
I have had two of these units over a 30 year period....I make about 6 loaves of bread at a time each week and this mixer has NEVER given me any problem. I have the grater and other attachments and they are all well made. I love this mixer unit and the blender is great, too. I shred my carrots, celery, etc. in the blender by filling it with water and adding the vegetables and pulsing on and off. Then drain. Super easy!! I have never had any problems with it. Make 10 doz. cookies at a time with no stress to the unit. SUPER!

Excellent Machine - very powerful
by myhealingherbs ,Mar 22 '04
Pros: If you want to make whole wheat bread, this is the machine! Cons: none
I bought this machine because i wanted to start making my own homemade bread. At first, I planned on buying a Kitchen Aid mixer, because that's what I saw all of the professionals using. After doing a little bit of research, I realized that the Kitchen Aid legend is only a legend when it comes to doing jobs such as large batches of whole wheat bread made with freshly ground flour.
Based on reviews of people who make their own bread, I decided on the Bosch Universal. It has a powerful 700 watt motor, and easily handles all the jobs I have thrown at it.
Another great feature of the Universal is that it does not have a head in the way for adding ingredients in the top. There are also plenty of optional attachments that will do just about all kitchen tasks. The Universal will do just about anything you want it to do, and it has a great track record. The machine is well designed and will last for years... Speaking of years, it's got a three year warranty on the motor which is longer than most.

THE Best!
by bzbgran ,Dec 04 '04
Pros: They are built to last, and are powerful enough to make whole wheat bread. Cons: They cost a little more, but are worth every penny, consider how long they last!
This is my second Bosch. My first one is 24 years old, and still working. I took the older one to our second home in Colorado. I can't understand why anyone would want any other brand. My children have the other brand, and are all regretting it. The power of the Bosch is unreal--when making bread, it doesn't slow down. Cleaning is also easy! Worth every penny! I can't understand why the professionals on TV cooking shows use the other brand--
