Believe me its not worth it. I want my top loader back!
by miketakeda ,Mar 15 '07
Pros: very quiet operation. Looks cool Cons: mold forms inside door gasket. Cannot handle large loads.
Clogs regularly
Bought both Bosch 3200 and matching Bosch dryer when we remodeled our house in 04. At first we kept getting the too much detergent signal and now put so little detergent in I wonder if we are really cleaning anything. Several months later the machine starting smelling moldy and upon inspection of the rubber gasket, I found it with mold all over it from top to bottom. We called Bosch and they said we were supposed to keep the door open. Where does it say that in the manual! Could not clean off the mold and now mold is forming inside the window of the door! It cannot handle large loads and if it gets plugged, which is regularly, you have to start a whole rinse cycle over again. If you are really considering one of these machines, go look at one at any appliance store, look at the gasket and use some logic. If you need to reverse the door, forget it, you wont find the parts to do it.

Cracks, cracks and moldy smell!
by abapper ,Sep 11 '06
Pros: conserves water, very quiet Cons: extremely poor build quality, moldy smell
bought this along with its dryer brother (WTMC3300US) on 01/25/2005.
we noticed cracks appearing behind the washer door that run up along the control panel within 6 months. Service plan replaced the plastic without any problems.
We have been experiencing a moldy smell coming from the washer for the past few months. I have to run an empty load with bleach to get rid of it.
Now, only 19 months after initial purchase, more major cracks have appeared on the washer AND dryer.
Although Lowe's extended warranty cust service has been fine, I very much regret this purchase.
My wife's cheapo Sears washer lasted her >8 years and was working fine when we replaced it with this junk. We should have never gotten rid of it.

Awesome washer, great for baby stained clothing
by peaches5317 ,Jul 08 '05
Pros: Easy to use, childproof, and great at stain removal Cons: I don't have any problems with it.
I love this washer and dryer. It is amazing at getting out the worst baby food and general stains on my childrens clothing, without ruining the clothing. I love that the buttons are on the top of the washer and dryer and not in the front. My children can not turn it on. It also has lock features to keep little hands from starting it. Those who said they don't like that the buttons are on top must not have kids. I have no complaints.

Live in Repairman!
by debtimm ,May 04 '07
Pros: None Cons: Extreme cycle length, moldy smell, single direction door, etc.
I loved my previous front loading machine. I love my Bosch dishwasher, so I thought I would love this washing machine. I was wrong. It is horrifying to watch each load of any size or type take up to 3 hours to complete. At the 1 - 2 hour mark, right before your eyes, it will reset itself for another 120 minutes. The moldy smell was our fault. According to our repairman, only HE powder detergent may be used, and only 1 - 2 tablespoons period. Funny that I could pack 17 towels into my previous machine and use any detergent I wanted without any difficulty. I really wish that I had just paid for the repair. It was a much better machine.

For the best washer category, the Oscar goes to....
by view2mtn ,Nov 04 '05
Pros: Solid front door, controls are very intuitive, super quiet, doesn't use much water. Cons: Hard to get leveling right so it doesn't shake during spinning. That's it.
I was very skeptical about buying this machine. I hate when I read reviews that talk about bad repair drama. But the good things I read seemed really good. So I threw caution to the wind and bought the Bosch WFMC 3200 Front Loader. I've never had a front loader before, always a top loader. I've had it about 2 months now and I absolutely love it. The salesman told me he had the washer and matching dryer at home and loved it and had no problems. That sold me (plus all my homework checking out other reviews). I am very pleased so far. The cycle time does take a little longer than my old top loader but the clothes are wrung so dry that drying (I have the matching natural gas dryer) takes much less time, about 15 minutes for an average load, which saves me money in the end. Who can beat that logic?

VERY PLEASED
by khorvatits ,Sep 03 '05
Pros: I like the control panel angled on the top. Unbelievably quiet wash cycle. Cons: Yes, the spin cycle can cause vibration. What would you expect at 1000 rpm?
Great washer. We bought the Bosch dryer also. Both machines live up to their reputation. We bought both at Lowes. The Lowes salesman knew the product line and answered all questions. We also bought the extended contract for the washing machine which effectively gives us 5 years total warranty. Both machines were delivered the next day. The Bosch dryer has a stainless steel drum like the washing machine. Not all dryers in the same price range offer this. Exhaust porting on the dryer drum is much larger than most dryers, and therefore more efficient. The clothes are nearly dry out of the washing machine due to the high speed spin. Completely satisfied with the purchase and performance.

Good Machine
by ltramont ,Oct 07 '04
Pros: Can put a folding shelf over front loaders. Cons: A little noisy on spin.
I read a LOT of e-pinions regarding these front-loaders and finally made my choice to go with the 3200. I have had no problem finding proper detergent, or anything else. I'm happy with it, though the high spin does make a bit of noise, which may be due to our floor and not the machine itself. Clothes are clean and not wrinkly (we got the matching dryer). I see what a few people said about the detergent/fabric softener cups being too close together, but I've been pouring things for years so I don't have a problem. Worth the money.

Great washing machine
by acblack4 ,Sep 22 '06
Pros: Cleans well, saves water & detergent. Cons: Expensive to purchase. Clothes sometimes wind up very tangled together.
I replaced my 22 year old Maytag with the Bosch washer 1 1/2 years ago. I still find it to be a great washer. It cleans the clothes very well and saves water & detergent. The Siemens washer is a clone of the Bosch but at the time I bought mine the hoses were extra with the Siemens and free with the Bosch. I do not have a pedestal but really see no need for one as it is expensive and the drawer underneath doesn't hold much. Most front loaders have a slide out drawer for adding detergent, bleach and softener. The Bosch has a flip open door on top so you do not have to worry about a sliding drawer wearing out in a few years from constant use. I am happy with the washer and would recommend people in the market for a washer take a look at this model.

Machine breaks easily, Service is difficult to call
by skyisthelimit ,Dec 11 '05
Pros: Cleans well when working. Cons: Loud and breaks. Difficult to get technician out to fix machine.
My Nexxt Washing Machine broke a little over one year. It took a number of weeks to convince the service technician to come out and fix the machine. They tried to convince us that we used too much detergent. When they finally came out three weeks later, they cleaned out the drainage pump and claimed it was fixed. This cost me $160 to vacuum out the drainage pump. Two wash loads later, the washing machine has the same problem. The service department took another week to come out. We have been without a washing machine for 5 weeks. The technician states that these machines have very sensitive drainage pumps and they are so busy fixing machines. Not a good sign. He charged us for a second visit and replaced the drainage pump. Warranty doesn't cover for service visits after one year. Each visit will cost you money. At least one to diagnose and another to fix the problem.
P.S. Do not purchase the pedestal drawer for these machines. It makes a quiet machine very noisy.

Don't buy it!
by robertbark ,Apr 25 '08
Pros: Sorry, don't have any. I am not recommending this product in any way. Cons: The only green aspect of this washer is the green you'll be paying.
We have a Bosch washer and dryer pair. The dryer malfunctioned during the warranty period and was replaced after three attempts to repair it and countless battles with the company. The washer also sucks. The screws at the top were over torqued by the company and now the plastic is cracked. Of course I didn't notice this until the front gasket failed. The washer is 2 years old, so if you don't mind paying around $500 per year on washers, this might be the product for you. The front gasket is also damaged on the washer, so that water pours out on the floor. I have not yet received an estimate on repair of this part, but Bosch will not even sell me the part. I am sure we are looking several hundred dollars. Meanwhile, that doesnt even address the cracked part, which will undoubtedly fall apart soon.

Washer broke when less than a month old, long repair time
by pattiri ,Jul 29 '05
Pros: Very quiet, energy efficient and cleans cloithes good. Cons: It broke when a month old and we don't know when it will be fixed.
We have a new Bosch washer. It ran great for less than a month.
Serviceman came Tues. and didn't have part. Came back Fri. Part didn't fix it and right part ( motor board) is not available. They are looking for this part. It is very discouraging to have such major repairs on such a new expensive washer. Repairman was nice. Customer service person is nice but said repairs take 2 to 3 weeks. Had we known this when we bought it we would have bought a Whirlpool because parts are readily available and anyone can fix it. Cost is about the same.
When it works it's quiet and clothes come out clean but cycles take a long time. It is energy efficient. We bought a Bosch because we thought it would be dependable. It replaced a 6 yr old Maytag Neptune that had mildew and board problems. We obviously have bad washing machine karma.

DO NOT BUY WASHER
by russelltopload ,May 22 '08
Pros: its not in my house anymore Cons: taking up valuable space in a land fill
Smells like mold because water gets trapped in the rubber gasket and there is standing water left in the bottom of the washer barrel. If you leave cloths in there more than 10 seconds they smell like mold. The washer will make your whole laundry room stink.

BOSCH WFMC3200 WASHER....PROBLEMS
by p180pilot ,Jun 05 '06
Pros: uses less water than old style top loader machines and spins clothes dryer.. Cons: vibration....plastic cracking, loud squeaking in spin mode..numerous service calls...
Bosch WFMC3200 Washer...shake rattle and cracks...
I purchased this washer in March 2006. The machine is noisy, vibrates a lot, and the plastic console (top piece with all the settings etc. at the front top of machine)has cracked and has been replaced by Bosch on two occasions.
Bosch has tried to point the finger at my laundry room floor as the cause of their problem. To rule this out, I have reinforced my floor with both planks and a vertical steel post anchored to the concrete basement floor. The machine still vibrates and the plastic console still cracked. The machine is still making a terrible squeaking sound when in the spin mode. Bosch is trying to find a fix for this......All I can say is.......please shop very carefully when choosing your new "high tech" washing machine.........

Inferior Parts Used on Bosch
by nard33 ,May 04 '07
Pros: Clean clothes well and run quiet during wash cycle. Repairs machine with no hassle. Cons: Noisy during spin cycle. Inferior plastic parts on door and machine keeps odor.
Machine runs quiet during wash cycle. Rattles and very noisy during spin cycle. Parts break often around the door. Does not handle heavy loads well. Machine keeps an odor. Often have to run empty machine with bleach to eliminate odor. Power wash and temp boost cycle are too long. I purchased the machine in 2005 and I have had several service calls for repairs. Repairman often blame us for parts breaking on the machine. I would not buy this machine again. It is not worth the money.
