I used to be a professional photographer back in the 70’s and then drifted to becoming an “advanced amateur” as I followed the path to my career as a chiropractor. Photography has always been one of my passions and I always keep trying to learn and ...
Pros: Ten times faster, more detailed, and richer colored than any other wide-carriage printer. Cons: The first time it takes in the paper will scare you!
I received a call from the technical brains of our two-men-and-a-camera extra photography business. We finished a wedding, and I wondered if he finished loading the 8x10s in the matted leathery album. He said all but one. One 35mm bridesmaid print was ...
Pros: Phenomenal color prints, VERY fast print speed, works well with 3rd party inks Cons: Black and white prints are not so spectacular, does not accept roll paper
The world of photography may be going digital, but I still love to see actual prints. A photograph means little to me unless it’s on paper. Not those little postcard-sized prints that the local supermarket spews out; I’m talking about nice large prints ...
Pros: • Borderless prints up to 13x19 inches!
• Excellent speed, economy and image quality. Cons: • Epson ink ~ 80 yrs. vs. Canon ~ 25 yrs.
• Paper grooves.
After assembling a 135 megabyte Photoshop file consisting of scanned and digital color and monochrome images, I fully expected the i9900 to take a great deal of time to print while running under Mac OS 9.2.2. To my surprise, less than three minutes ...
Pros: Large photo prints with exceptional speed; powerful driver; easy setup; cheap, individual ink cartridges Cons: Color adjustment may be necessary to original files; printer, paper slightly expensive; large footprint
My very first printer was a black & white Canon bubblejet printer way back in 1991. I wandered from the flock in about 1995 when that poor little printer wore out, but I'm back in HIGH style with the new Canon i9900 which I purchased in late 2004. ...
Pros: Great flat color, too, and at a great price relative to the competition. Cons: Use CMYK mode files, RGB files seem to lead to odd results in prints.
My price on this very sweet unit was $440, which compares favorably to Epson's equivalent printers, which usually run $700 or more. Although I plan on doing photo prints on the printer, too, I have an Olympus P-440 for that, which is also excellent. ...
Pros: Excellent quality of prints, refillable cartridges, size of prints, durability, and dependability. Cons: None at all.
I moved up to the i9900 after I wore out my i850. I chose this printer because I wanted to print up to 13x19 prints and was very satisfied with my other Canon products. I routinely print 8.5x11 and 13x19 borderless prints with no problems. One great ...
Pros: clarity, resolution, speed, size of prints Cons: Unacceptable stripes and bands. They're dealbreakers.
I have had my i9900 two months and I now see black track lines from the sweeps of the printerhead. They are most noticeable in medium to dark background that is fairly even (no real detail). Also a band of several "smeared" lines about an inch from the ...
Pros: Great, works very well, can use generic inks Cons: none
I went from having Epson printer for over 12 years to being a believer in the canon line. This is a great printer. great printer, very low in printing problems. great prints, very versatile. You can send a lot of different kind of papers through it. ...
Pros: Excellent speed, quality, paper handling, software. 8 cartridges gives better colors, waterproof prints Cons: Limited local availability of paper and ink in Oklahoma City, I must order online.
It took about 15 minutes to get the printer set up and the drivers installed and then I was ready to begin using my new printer. I was a bit concerned considering I ordered the printer on the first day it was available for purchase, I wondered if the ...
Pros: Fantastic photo quality Cons: Size of printer, Overall cost
I wanted to upgrade my printer from an HP 990c so that I could print large format. Besides being an avid scrapbooker, I am also an artist and liked the idea of being able to print my own larger scale prints of my digitalized artwork. I also plan to ...
Boy was I ever excited to print my own photos.
Borderless 13x19 oh yeah!
Only thing is from the very 1st print after setup, 8.5x11" canon glossy pro paper, I got obvious lines from the printhead. Not printing correctly, fer sure. Phone tech support sez take it into an authorized facility. Ok, except I bought a BRAND NEW printer cuz I need to print photos! So closest repair place is ONLY 120 miles away and I NEED my printer to work. Drive it there a week ago. Go to pick it up yesterday, "It's fixed" they say. Cool, lets try a 60MB Tiff file. Nope, still funky colored lines in print. Freakin' A!
Lets see $449 + s&h (from B&H) plus my 240 miles/6+ hrs driving. Still not sure what they're gonna do about repairing it.
Damn maybe I shoulda bought an Epson?
Pros: Nice color, although terrible on other papers besides canon's. Cons: Either use it or lose it with the ink cartridges.
This is a nice printer as far as printing goes -- that is if you have any ink left when you haven't printed anything for a while. I just noticed, after not using my printer for several months, that the ink cartridges leak when the printer is not in use. I had eight full ink cartridges just a few months ago and now two are completely dry and the other six are getting close to dry. What this means is if you don't print all your prints at once and use the entire cartridge of ink immediately, you will wind up losing the ink because of non-usage.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.
Canon knows about the leaking cartridges since they have a foam pad on one side that acts to absorb the ink! Corrupt company! Don't be fooled by these posts that give the printer an A+ review; they have no idea about this problem as of yet. I have had this printer for 2 and a half years now and just realized this problem.
Stunning Images Are Yours! by digiangel ,Aug 03 '04
Pros: Photo lab comparable prints, easy use, great bundled software. Cons: Noisy paper carriage into printing bay, requires high end ink jet paper for stunning results.
After reading hundreds of reviews of higher end ink jet printers, comparing prices, calling the companies to ask a myriad of questions, Canon simply beat the rest. Their tech people had precise answers and when unsure, got back to me. I do digital art and photography semi-pro and needed to replace an EPSON Photo 1520 that simply wore out, so I needed a work horse that made impressive images. In store, the example prints looked too good to be true, but every single image I've printed has amazed and pleased me the same way. I've printed on ink jet canvas paper, watercolor paper, glossy and matte, high end art paper and standard 20 lb ink jet paper and found the i9900 to operate at consistently high levels. The ink tanks hold more ink than the comparable EPSON 2200 and seem to last a long while, though expensive to replace as a set (they are available individually, which is great!). I hope anyone considering the new high end ink jet printers, wanting stunning images at a decent speed, will take advantage of my research and experience with my final choice in choosing their next printer.
Pros: Superb/Incredible Quality, good speed of printing 13"x19" print. Cons: Ink cartrige small, only 2picoliters, and expensive
(10.99$)per cartridge.
5 years agoI buy HP DeskJet 990Cse Pro printer, and all this time I was satisfy with printer, but when I start to print photos this printer did not preform (do to ink).
I was looking for sam 13"x19" quality photo printer. I did research of all photo printers with 13x19" printing size.
There about 4 printers, and some better then other, but I need the best, best quality and good speed. And do to my conclusion is only one printer if come to superior quality
Canon i9900 photo printer.
I buy this printer from NewEgg.com, price was good free shipping. I have i9900 about 30 days, I print some photos
8.5x11" and 13"x19" on Canon Glossy Photo Paper.
Quality is superb, beautyful print quality, I never se better quality of print in all my life, this printer is incredible. My friend have Epson 2200 his printer is very good ( most on mate paper) but is no competition to i9900.
