An MP3 - money maker and loss producer. On one hand you can market hundreds of products that enable the playback of MP3 music files. On the other hand you have the "evil" side of MP3s such as the former Napster and the newer Kazaa! It kind of has that ...
Pros: Great bang for the buck. @ under $200/30gb, it beats an iPod in value. Cons: - Big for portable mp3.
- Not shock proof.
For under $200, you get a great bang for the buck, especially compared to an iPod which for the same price, you'll likely only get 1/3 of this gadget's capacity. On the other hand, the Jukebox Zen's size really does make you feel like you're lugging ...
Pros: 30gb!!!, easy to use, price, stylish. Cons: A little chunky, headphones.
MP3 players a coolest thing since slice bread. No doubt. And the 20+ gig monsters are like the toasted variety with your spread with strawberry jam and whipped cream. Having something the size of a walkman that can hold your whole music library (and ...
Pros: Price, sound quality, fast USB2 transfers, large capacity, small size. Cons: Scroll wheel, slightly buggy OS, requires drivers to interface on computer.
8/3/05 UPDATE: I have now had this mp3 player for almost two years and have continued to use it regularly. As a testament to the storage capacity of 30GB, I have my entire mp3 library loaded on the player and it's still only half full. The ...
Pros: 30GB of cheap mp3 storage. Looks nice. Cons: Bad Software, uncomfortable design, poor sound quality, unusable performance.
Yes, the Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra looks great but in actuality, it totally BLOWS CHUNKS. Sorry but I hate this thing - don't read if you can't take a good dose on cynicism.... What more can I add above the other diabolical reviews it gets here. Thank go ...
Pros: Cheaper than the iPod.
Good battery life.
People say good sound (i have no idea). Cons: Awful scrollwheel.
Awful software.
Can't connect as HD without software.
Zero Mac support.
I've had my Zen NX 30GB for a few days, and have been using the crap out of it. The conclusion i have come to is that the designers of the player, and the programmers of the software, should be taken outside and shot. Hardware: Scroll wheel: ...
I was in the market for something that would reduce my need to carry CDs in my car, but was also portable for other activities. I originally started with a HiMD player, but the copyright restrictions made it a hassle, so I decided on a HD player. iPod ...
Pros: Cheap. Cons: Crap software. But its still good.
This is increasingly hard to get hold of in the UK, and praices for them have gone up from 190 to 250 of your british pounds... Software: Well, no plug-and-play that USB is renowned for- installing the software took a while, required re-start and I ...
Pros: Huge storage, cheaper than most others, long battery life, relatively compact (palm pilot sized) Cons: No line out, styling (not huge for me but big for some).
Plenty of specs and other details eslewhere so I'll be short. Not as sleek as the iPod but the big pluses for me were the price ($170 with special deals and coupons) and the replaceable battery. I've had other devices that used non replaceable ...
Pros: Great value for the price, nice design, removable battery Cons: Cheap headphones, software needs improving.
I spent a lot of time researching disk-based MP3 players with at least 20GB. At the time, the leading players were RCA Lyra, iPOD, and the Nomad Zen NX. I really didn't consider the iPOD. The price/GB just (in my humble opinion) isn't worth it ...
Pros: Sound, controls, speedy load time, replaceable battery, USB 1 and 2 compatible Cons: Case, headphones, some may find interface confusing at first.
If your looking at HD based mp3 players you've probably narrowed it down to the iPod and the Zen NX and I'm going to tell you why you should pick the Zen NX. I researched and tested many mp3 players over the last 5 months trying to decide which one t ...
Pros: Good battery life, low cost, fast USB2 transfer, stable. Cons: Scroll wheel, not Plug&Play, accompanied software needs improvement, slightly heavier/bigger than iPods.
First the bad(s): - My biggest complaint about this MP3 player is the spring-loaded scroll wheel. It's tough to explain unless you try it yourself at a store. I always have trouble pressing in the scroll wheel to make a selection if I don't press exactl ...
Pros: Ease of use. Battery Life. Size. Cons: Two items:
1) Reliability! BAD!
2) Technical Customer Support!
I purchased a NOMAD Zen MP3 player on 09.30.03 and received it on 10.06.03. I spent one week setting up the player and its play lists, uploading the songs with the updated software which happened to cause my software for the NOMAD Jukebox 20 to break ...
Pros: massive capacity, reasonable price, replaceable battery, USB2.0 speed, good sound, not too big, feels solid Cons: software takes some getting used to, supplied headphones not good
This is my first mp3 player. I have been using a minidisc player for a while now, but when I saw I could get one device to hold my entire CD collection I thought I would give it a try. The Zen NX is a very nice little machine. It is substantial feeling. ...
Prices Keep dropping! Great value by drew2too ,Dec 06 '04
Pros: Value compared to iPod Cons: Software could be a little better
I recently bought the 30G Creative Labs MP3 player and within 1 month I saw the price drop considerably. I am still happy with the purchase - and so is my wife - it was for her birthday.
The software that comes with the player is fairly user-friendly, although it takes some practice. The hardware is holding up fine. No signs of wear and tear or breakage of any sort so far - we've had it about 2 months now.
If you do download songs from Kazaa or similar places, it takes a little work to organize the songs by artists, genre, etc This is no reflection on Creative Labs - just an observation.
One recommendation to consider: I usually don't purchase the in-house product warranties at additional costs, but .... The Li-Ion battery will eventually go dead - and will cost about $100+ to replace. The warranty costs $40 and is good for 2 years - I plan on using that warranty at the end of the 2 years, at the latest.
