Pros: Cheap. Easy to use. 128 MB SD card included (through special at walmart.com). Cons: You get what you pay for. Poor picture quality. Camera locks up when switching modes.
First off, the picture associated with this camera on epinions.com is not a picture of the Vivitar 3745. For an actual picture of the 3745, go to vivitar.com. I researched this camera and couldn't find any reviews, but it had all of the options that I w ...

Camera is not worthy no matter what price - many better options
by kisa4u ,Dec 17 '03
Pros: Ummmm, easy to use Cons: Crappy pictures even on the best setting, bulky, battery hog, just all around bad.
Johmbuk left a very good detailed review of this camera, titled
"Not a very good camera. Spend a little more and get a much better camera."
I too bought this camera at walmart.com for $228 which came with the 128 sd card. The camera itself was pretty bulky and went through the 4 AA batteries after about 50 pics. The camera was easy to use but the quality of the pictures was not very good.
I went out and bought a Kodak EasyShare 3.1MP Digital Camera - CX6330, and took the same exact pictures with it and compared them to the Vivitar. Not even close the vivitar pictures would be very grainy while the Kodax pics would be very sharp and clear. Note that the vivitar setting was on "Best" and the Kodak was only on "good". The Kodak was smaller, used only 2 AA's, and was even cheaper, now about $200.
So my advice is to steer clear of this Vivitar camera and any other digital that they make and take a look at a Kodak, Sony, Fuji.

Horrible camera
by chimommy05 ,Oct 31 '06
Pros: Cheap Cons: Poor picture quality, locks up, goes through batteries like crazy
I have had this camera for a few years now. It is my first digital camera, given to me as a gift. While it serves its purpose, it is a pain to use. Trying to get the camera to focus on anything is a nightmare. Taking pictures without the flash is next to impossible unless in very bright light. Picture quality is sorely lacking. It sucks the life out of batteries almost instantly. Just an all around bad camera.
If you are looking for a camera, I highly recommend passing this one by. It may be affordable but it isn't worth the money. Spend a few more dollars and get a camera you can be happy with.
