If you are a rookie, at photography, as I am the N70 is a high quality camera and is great for every shot. After reading the instruction booklet

A Camera For Every User

by rneuma1 , Dec 12 '99
Pros: Great quality for every user
Cons: Finnicky Flash
This is a great camera. The quality of the pictures it produces are top notch. What I personally like best about the camera is the different level of experience it caters to. A person who just wants to click and shoot can use it for point and shoot....

i own a nikon N70 and i'm completely satisfied with it. the built in motor advances at 3.1 fps, which is good enough for me. i've taken photography for 3 years now in school and this camera is excellent. it has way too many options to list. but to list a...

Cons: None
The N70 is an ideal camera for an advanced amateur or professional. It is one of the most versatile cameras that I have ever handled. The N70 has many excellent features; including a high 1/4000sec. shutterspeed to 30sec., and an excellent 3D matrix...

Shoot like the best with the Nikon N70

by fat_tony , Jan 20 '00
Pros: easy to use, easy film loading
Cons: none
The Nikon N70 is an awesome camera. I used to own a Nikon F series that my dad handed down to me. It was an old manual focus manual everything camera. It took good pictures, and that is why I stayed with Nikon and bought the N70. This camera has tons...

One of the most solid SLRs

by gRegor , Jan 02 '00
Pros: Sturdy Body Design, Great lens optics, Great reputation, Excellent features list
Cons: hardly any. Perhaps price, but you get what you pay for. This is excellent equipment.
Having worked at a camera repair shop, I had plenty of time to evaluate different makes and models of camera before buying my own. I have had point and shoot cameras before and was not really impressed at all. I had never been anything near a...

3 years old-still cutting edge

by leepmon , Nov 17 '99
Pros: Superior product for the price
Cons: Sometimes I wish i had a point and shoot
The Nikon N70 is simply put a great camera. Definitely not for a rookie, although I never hesitate to hand the camera to a random stranger to snap a shot. I have had it for over three years and it is still flawless. The only complaint I have is the...

Pros: Dependable, easy, inexpensive, light
Cons: 4 volt batteries, not too many options
The Nikon N70 may be one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I saved for two years to be able to buy this camera and I am so glad I did. This camera is fast, reliable, easy to use, and very accurate. There are so many options that can...

Just a great camera!!

by BillGnr , Feb 11 '00
Pros: Solid construction, fast focus, easy operation.
Cons: None so far.
Prior to purchasing the Nikon N70 I had been using a Yashica point and shoot camera, and had pretty good results. Every now and then a couple pictures I really wanted would not turn out. Thus my new purchase of the Nikon N70. This is a great camera...

Nikon quality at a reasonable price.

by harvmoy , Aug 06 '01
Pros: Accurate metering, fast & accurate focusing, built-in speedlight, date imprinting, backwards compatibility on lenses/accessories.
Cons: No Depth of Field Preview, no backlighting for the LCD panel, no interchangeable focusing screens
Strengths:
Super accurate 8 segment 3D Matrix metering.
Real fast Focus Tracking w/Lock-On... fast enough to capture my sugar fueled 4 and 6 year olds. Accurate too- very little hunting even in low light/contrast.
Date imprint very handy-...

I'll never grow out of the Nikon N70

by Guru , Aug 16 '99
Pros: Durability, Great Photos, Flexible Settings
Cons: Way more features than I could ever use
I'm one of those photographers who wishes they had more time and training to do everything with a camera that I could. I always have grand visions of how much control I want to have over my camera. I never wanted to purchase one of those dumb down SLR's...

I bought an F70(N70 in the US) in '97 in the UK. It IS a great camera for both the amateur and a pro alike, in the wonderful world of photography.

A good start

by whazle , Oct 23 '00
Pros: rugged and takes great shots on auto
Cons: Lots to learn for beginner
The N70 is my first "real" camera. Five years back when I took a marathon trip through Europe I had a Yashica point & zoom. The snapshots were fine.

However, in March 2000 I was planning to go to the Iditarod and I wanted a...
