Pros: Very pleasant with little peat. Smooth, sweet, complex enough to please most everyone Cons: Pricey
Glenmorangie Port Wood Finish is definitely a better older brother to the 10 year. For a price (~$50) you will get a better, smoother whisky. Christmas was good this year because my girlfriend and one of my best friends got together on a gift and ...
Pros: I don't have a bad word to say about Glenmorangie Port Wood Finish. Cons:I don't have a bad word to say about Glenmorangie Port Wood Finish.
My epic love affair with single malt Scotch whisky and its origins are already well documented with my liver already dangerously close to pickling, in any event, it seemed like a natural progression (and perhaps a creative way to slow down my ...
Pros: Fruity, caramel malt Cons: Loses some character as a Scotch whisky; a bit compromised
I'm trying to think exactly when I first sampled Glenmorangie. I can think of two places, but I'm not quite sure which came first. One was surely an Oyster Bar, the other a little Bistro where the ex and I went for an early evening drink. Although the...
Pros: Not a bad whisky, its an interesting idea Cons: Port dominates too much
I've tried and enjoyed both the 10yr and 18yr old versions of common or garden Glenmorangie and enjoyed them. It's not a stunning whisky but its a good standby, a little sweet but nice and fresh. The Portwood version was introduced a few years back as...
Pros: Like kissing god. Cons: Practically nothing (as long as you have a supply)
There is nothing better in this world than a fine single malt whisky. Like a cigarette after sex, this drink is to be cherished. It is such a special pleasure to be able to sip this fine smooth drink that you should make it a priority to sample the...
Pros: It *MAY* work for you too Cons: You MIGHT hate it!
Scotch + Sherry = Great, Scotch + port = strange (in a good way)
I love the MacCallan. I also love Port, so I liked this whiskey (a lot actually) tho the combo isn't entirely Scotch-like and the light but very very fruity tones of the port and the mild smokey/peatey tones tend to clash, it's very easy to see why many malt fans might not like this.
Pros: Palate better than nose, outstanding finish better than palate. Cons: None
My experience with single malts is limited -- at the moment my budget doesn't quite match my desire to taste every reputable single malt that's out there. But I know a great one when I taste it and Glenmorangie Port Finish is just as good as Macallan 18. Heresy? I don't think so.
This expression is incredible. Citrus, spicy nose, smooth, complex palate -- and the finish (all two weeks of it) is creamy, sweet, warm and satisfying.
It may not have the depth of an 18-year-old but it comes damn close. By virtue of its spectacular finish (not that its other aspects are in any way substandard) this is a must-have bottle.
Glenmorangie Scotch Single Malt 18 Yr 86@ 750ml An attractive deep gold colour, warm and enticing Distinctive from the Ten Year Old, but without the heavy darkness of some extra aged malts The bouqu...
