Pros: Excellent professional instrument, highly versatile, amazing value for the money. Cons: Very, very minor build quality issues. Almost not worth mentioning.
I purchased this guitar concurrently with an Ibanez RGT 220A Prestige. I had originally planned to buy the RGT320Q, however for nearly the same money, I was able to buy the first two. As this is a review of the RGT42DXFM, I will refer to the 220A only ...

Awesome guitar for the money!!!

Pros: Always in tune, Awesome sound (any sound you want), nice action, and cool look! Cons: The locking tuners become a nuisance if you're into weird tunings.
I got this guitar for $450 because I know a guy that works at a guitar shop. I didn't think that I got such a good deal until I played it and heard the high quality sound that came out of the two amplifiers that I have. I started looking around on the Internet for the prices and couldn't find one under $600. The hardware is top notch and has a beautiful finish. The locking tuners are a little bit of a nuisance if you do a lot of the weird tunings; such as, drop D and drop B, but you get used to it. You can use the whammy bar as much you want without losing the tuning. If the guitar goes slightly out of tune, the fine tuners are down by your right hand so you can quickly adjust it. They aren't quite enough to do drop D, but it's close.
