Great Card, easy installation
by sjasonsmith ,Mar 13 '04
Pros: Compatible with 32 and 64 bit PCI. Comes with normal and low profile backplates. Cons: None
We had to relocate a server and needed to replace our fiber adapter with gigabit over copper. As the server is stuffed full of controller cards, I decided to opt for this dual port server adapter.
The card ships with two rear plates, one normal and one low profile, in case you are mounting it in a small machine.
Although the card is 64 bit pci, it is also compatible with 32 bit pci, you just have to make sure that you have room on your motherboard to allow the unused portion of the connector to hang past the slot. I am using it in a 64 bit slot.
There is not much to say about this other than my total installation time was about 10 minutes and everything is working great. I am confident that this card is handling as much traffic as my server is capable of generating.
