JVC XL-PR1 Personal CD Player

Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor reception and quit within a day of purchase

I recently bought this model and within a day it stopped working. Chances are it was a defective unit. However, when I was able to use it, the reception was extremely poor. Spend an extra $10 and buy a Panasonic or Sony. In this case, the extra money will go a long way!

Pros: Rechargable batteries, AM/FM tuner
Cons: Trouble with burned CDs, and less than "official" CDs

I was pretty excited when I saw the packaging of this CD Player from JVC. Have been very satisfied with my VCR, TV and DVD player, but was less than happy with this player. Completely unable to play some CDs that I listen to as part of my job, and very dodgy with MP3s--dodgy as in inconsistent. Would sometimes play them and sometimes not. The AM/FM tuner is a nice feature as is the rechargable batteries. This is a good player if you only listen to store bought CDs, but honestly, who does that?
