Pros: Clean bake element will make pie baking less difficult. Cons: Umm... ummm... none
OK after having an old range that was failing anything in comparison would be good. However, this range is more than just good --it is great. The stovetop with it's adjustable elements is wonderfully flexible. The elements heat so quickly too. We ...
Pros: Beautiful Cons: CANNOT cook with it b/c doesn't heat or regulate temp
In a nutshell, I paid $1,500 for it at Sears hoping to get a quality product because I love to cook. I've had it for 19 months and have had 3 repairs on it already and it's still not working. The third repair today is for the same problem as the first ...
Pros: looks nice. Cons: 15 words is not enough space to describe the problems we have had.
We bought a Y-KERA807P in mid 2005 in Canada. Impressive in looks at the store but that was where the good impression ended. We have had nothing but problems with the range. The problem with our range/oven is repeatedly failing electronics. First ...
Pros: WOW, It is beautiful, solid, cooks great. Cons: Fire Hazard, Safety Hazard
I bought this range for my wife during our kitchen remodel. Complete Kitchen Aid appliance package looks beautiful in the new kitchen. It wasn't long before we would find the stove top turned on and melting things. The front mounted knobs are very ...
Pros: Nice to look at and that is about the only thing pro. Cons: Self cleaning does not work. Locks the door and won't open.
We bought the KithenAid KERA807P December 2007. This range has been a nightmare. The oven door is on crooked and heat and air seeps out. It took 2 1/2 hours to bake a simple pan of brownies and when we called the 800 number the answer we got was "oh ...
Pros: absolutely love my speckled ceramic cooktop--don't even have to clean every time i cook Cons: convection doesn't seem to bake much faster than regular oven
A little worried reading some of these reviews, but needed a smooth top for how much i cook and spill and it's such a chore to clean my old stove! But have had since Thanksgiving 2007 and am so happy with all the features I have tried. Someone told me ...
Pros: I can not think of a single pro at this time Cons: It takes for ever to pre-heat. Does not maintain temp and pre-heats with broiler.
I could have written the review by ckaye word for word. I thought that I was going crazy. I had 3 service calls on the range when I first purchased it in May 2005 and they kept telling me that there was nothing wrong with the oven. "It just takes longer to pre-heat because of the enclosed element". Once again, today I baked a pie at 425 then immediately reset the oven to 350 for a pot-roast and it started pre-heating again at 275! This was immediately after I took the pie out of the 425 oven. Ckaye has given me new hope on getting KA to do something about this oven.
Also, the oven only pre-heats with the broiler on. That means that nothing can be in the oven while it is pre-heating or it will be broiled! If someone questions my sanity, notice that there is not a delay start option on this model. That is because it would broil anything in the oven.
I hardily endorse ckaye's opinion of the KAKERA807P. Do not buy this product. I am sorry I ever bought it.
Pros: BEAUTIFUL! Cons: Only cooked once since it broke.
Well - we did A LOT of homework on this one. We decided to go with the stainless model - and as stated here - it really is beautiful!
It was installed on Friday, we cooked with it on Sunday, and called for service on Monday. The only way to shut it off is by throwing the breaker.
While I am disappointed - it is very gizmo rich - there is no shortage of bells and whistles - and likely the glass control panel somehow is failing at the "off" button.
That being said, it still works - we just need to use the breaker at the panel to shut it down - which, needless to say, isn't something that we want to get used too when paying $1600 for this thing.
Customer service was friendly and proficient. We have someone coming out tomorrow - at which time I will be happy to update this.
Also - we are asking that they calibrate the temperatures - which is a common problem with these units.
kitchenaid range-What a lemon! by mom27 ,Dec 06 '06
Pros:
Frequently "days off" waiting for repairman Cons: Money lost for missing work!
My parents have had the same problems with their range-my poor mother is about to tear her hair out! This has been going on for 4 years! Always replacing parts, getting wrong parts, false promises! I feel horrible for them-they really can't afford a new range and besides; this one is still under warranty. Whirlpool/kitchenaid has terrible service, it is disorganized and ineffective! I would love to start binding together with other consumers to go to the company with numbers that could equal "class action"!

WORST APPLIANCE EXPERIENCE EVER by lulu1963 ,Sep 07 '07
Pros: NONE Cons: Calling it an oven is a real stretch, considering it doesn't cook.
ARE THEY KIDDING ME! I also have had the same problems with my oven as ckaye and kc46us. However, I bought mine in 2004 and I knew it was a very new model. Chided myself for bying something brand new off of the production line. However, have seen that your experiences have been more recently I have come to think that Kitchenaide should be contacted by us collectively. I had six service calls on this the first year. I finally called Kitchenaide and told them I wanted it replaced. They said that since it had been fixed for different things it is not a "lemon". I just think the service people were picking things out of a hat to replace. My service contract ran out, and I couldn't bring myself to renew it. I just live with an extremely frustrating and unreliable machine. I'm thinking of turning it into a flower planter.
Pros: EVERYTHING, HAS ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES AND BEAUTY TOO Cons: PRICEY..BUT NOT SORRY WHEN YOU ARE REDOING A NEW DREAM KITCHEN
Wow...beautiful and wonderful features too...Stainless Steel ...Moved to FL and new with the electric range. Splurged for this multi functional slide in model with convection.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR....VERY STURDY and user friendly conversions. Happy I got the high end model.
Great Range! Very impressed by kschust ,Aug 16 '06
Pros: heats quickly, evenly. Beautiful appearance! Especially for the price! Cons: Can't think of one
We purchased this oven to replace a 5year old Jenn Air that broke down four different times. The styling of this oven is beautiful. We have the stainless steel oven and we love it. Shows the fingerprints, like most do, but easily cleaned up. We have the ceramic cooktop also. Heats very fast! Water boils very quickly. Has a dial option to keep foods "warm" which is great, because I can never get my food done at the same time. The warming drawer is fantatstic as well. The electronic controls in the front are a little overwhelming at first, but after using the stove I think I will figure things out very quickly.
Outstanding Electric Range by kangar00 ,Jun 21 '05
Pros: Professional look. No elements visible in oven. Fast heating. Accurate temps. Cons: EasyConvect leaves food under-cooked.
I purchased the Stainless model of this unit. It is a dream to cook with. And it looks great too. I love the front mounted controls . . . no more reaching over hot pots and pans to adjust. The top elements heat so fast, I can get two quarts of water boiling in about a third the time as on my old range. The oven heats quickly too, and it tells you when it is pre-heated! I bake fish and chicken at 500 degrees. This baby reached that in about 5 minutes.
