The best camera that I have owned
by lindann ,Dec 12 '04
Pros: great pics, easy to load onto the pc with the docking station Cons: the lens cover isn't as "tight" as I would like it
The pictures come out clearer than any other camera I have ever seen. I also have the docking station and with one little click of a button all my pics go onto the pc. This is one camera that I won't be needing to replace for a long time. It also takes great action shots and wonderful for night pics which was completely shocking because most times there still isn't enough light from the camera to do them......this one is by far the best.

My first digital camera.
by gennalea ,Jan 04 '04
Pros: Ease of use, internal memory (32MB) Cons: Lens cap?? It doesn't fit...like someone forgot to finish it in production.
I really like this camera. I'm a novice so this camera is ideal. Manual controls are minimal but that only makes it a better camera for a beginner. Image quality is fantastic. My final price was $287. A 5MP for $287! What more can I say?

I Love Kodak !
by mrmars ,Feb 06 '04
Pros: very useful software, excellent picture quality, features, ease of use. Cons: none !
This is the second Kodak Digital camera I have owned. (haven't owned any other brand but, haven't felt the need to switch to another brand) I love its ease of use, picture quality and features. I also own the Kodak printer dock 4000 for printing lab quality 4X6 photos at home anytime. I'll purchase Kodak until I'm convinced another brand is any better or a better value. Kodak is a very reputable brand that has been around a long time.

Finally made the step to digital and glad I did with this camera!!
by shadowrocks88 ,Feb 23 '05
Pros: Pictures come out looking just like film ones, small and lightweight, easy to operate Cons: The only problem is the lens cap, not really that bad though
I was very hesitant about switching from a film camera to a digital one. I researched and found a very good deal on this one. When I first got the camera I would take pictures with both cameras (my other one is a minolta) and looking at them side by side you couldn't tell which one was the digital one. It takes a very good picture, even in low light it does a pretty good job. I bought an extra memory card because I take so many pictures. I really recommend this camera especially if you are going to take the leap and switch to a digital one. It is very easy to run. It is small and lightweight! I do think that they could improve the lens cap on this one. I really don't care how that works, and sometimes it doesn't stay on but that is a minor inconvenience. So if you are looking for a good and reasonably priced camera check this one out!

Kodak DX4530 is excellent
by ranajee ,Jul 24 '05
Pros: Affordable, reliable, excellent quality, easy to carry Cons: only 3x optical zoom. But overall it has the best performance
Very strong body. My camera fell many times but still this camera works like a new one. I even dropped it on the beach but kept it in dry place for days and guess what; it still works.
It has an excellent design and body and works perfect. Gets the best running mode pics than any other camera. I've taken pictures while driving, jet skiing, kayaking, running, day, light, long exposure mode, you name it and I've taken pics in that way and have given me the best results. I hardy have to delete any picture when I download them on to my PC.

does not work with Apple
by wbur222333 ,Oct 26 '04
Pros: it's a camera Cons: it doesn't work with the Apple, and they don't tell you
The camera may be fine. But when I was unable to transfer pictures back from my Apple to the camera (so I could get prints at the store) I found out from Kodak's help center that the camera is not fully compatible with Apple. You can put pictures on the Apple, but not get them back out. It would have been nice if they told you that when you install the software on your Apple, or even better they might say it when you purchase the camera. Unfortunately, I found out too late. I guess this 'if you don't ask we won't tell' policy helps Kodak enhance its sales in the short term, but obviously I'm not planning on buying anything again from them in the future.

Not Bad
by kamstercalgary ,Jan 05 '04
Pros: 5 Mega Pixels, Price, takes AA's, Simplicity. Cons: Lens Cap needs to br tighter, The blinking green light next to the view finder
This is a pretty good camera for the price. I bought this during a Boxing Day Sale and paid $349 CDN.
So, not bad for a 5 Mega Pixels camera. This camera is very easy to use. I like that this camera takes AA's for battery. I made a small movie with it and works well also. The flash was bright. The only thing i don't like about this camera is 2 things. The lens cap which is very loose, it keeps poping out. Second the flash or on/off indicator light is right next to the view finder, which when i use the view finder the blinking green light is blinding my view. the light should be on top of the camera and not right next to the view finder. This camera worked well at night, I took a fwe photos during a dance and the pics came out really well and sharp. Just a note you do not need the docking station for this camera, i find it works extremely well just by USB cable, save the $100 and just buy a recharger for AA's

Disappointed
by diswired2000 ,Dec 12 '03
Pros: Great outdoor pics, easy to use. Cons: LOUSY indoor and low light pics. Not enough manual control.
This camera took great outdoor pictures. Easy to use, lightweight and decent battery life. If you're going indoors, you'd better have a few 1000 watt halogens ready for a good picture. I'm very disappointed to have to return in for another brand.

high resolution
by johnny781 ,Jan 12 '04
Pros: Fabulous resolution, well priced, great features, good battery life. Cons: Lens cap can be better.
This camera is great. It has high resolution pictures. I can see the wood grain in a door. Very impressive. The close up mode is neat. The tech support is great as well. I think the number is 1-800-235-6325 or 1-800-23KODAK

excellent camera
by earsjr ,Oct 29 '03
Pros: price, image quality, AA batteries Cons: nothing i can see
i don't know what the other guy is talking about. he obviously has no clue. if you measure image quality by file size, which only a novice would do, there are multiple quality settings on the camera that result is images that are far larger than "typically 800 KB in size!"
the camera is a STEAL for this price, and the use of SD instead of the inferior compact flash and memory stick modules make it all the better. what i also like about this camera is that it uses AA batteries. as mentioned before, this saves a lot of money, and allows it to be more versatile.
highly recommended.

Very Nice Camera
by sbolinger2 ,Dec 26 '03
Pros: Excellent pictures, easy to use, very long battery life, price Cons: The lens cap is not really that bad, quicktime video format :(
This is a very nice camera for the money. I have used it for a trip to Vegas and Christmas '03. The pictures are very sharp and nice looking. I think the people who are having a difficult time with blurry pictures and light are mis-using the camera. You have to the button half way down and give the camera a moment (about 1-2 seconds) to auto-set focus and shutter speed, then press the button.
The video and mic are very cool, but don't expect high quality video as the resolution is only 320X240. A 256Meg SD card in the camera does just over 16 minutes of video or 166 pictures and the highest resolution. Also the video taken is quicktime (.mov), which is not a very open format. I have had very good results and would recommend the camera to any of my friends. This is my second digital camera and I am very satisfied.

Hate it, Hate it, hate it!
by davidroxanne ,Jul 07 '06
Pros: large internal memory Cons: poor battery life, long delay for snapping button to actual picture taken, long start up.
When i first bought this camera I was so excited. The pictures were clear and sharp, and it was easy to use. After 2 years I am ready to trade it in for my 35mm. It's useless at catching candid shots, as the start up time to first picture seems to take forever. Not to mention the shutter lag. You snap a pic and by the time the camera actually takes it, the moment has passed. I also find it eats up my rechargeable batteries.

We can afford high quality pictures!
by cartolina ,Dec 22 '03
Pros: Great picture quality, great price, has video with sound capability, nice size, built-in memory Cons: None for us; maybe not ideal for someone who is a professional.
My husband always wants the most expensive "toys," which causes problems. I got this for him for Christmas -- for just $269 -- and he's loved it! It lets you take video with sound and it takes great still shots. (Initially we weren't sure. If you're having trouble getting good quality, try developing them somewhere else. That was our problem.) Great camera!

I love this camera!
by frankrizzo716 ,May 10 '04
Pros: Easy to use, software is easy to use, lots of fun... Cons: Lens cap, shudder lags a bit, tad on the pricey side with all the attachments.
I've always been a film purist, and vowed I'd never buy a digital camera. But WOW the pictures this camera takes have blown me away. I've always used a Nikon slr with low speed either Fujichrome, or Kodachrome film. This camera takes sharper images than either film, and that's a pretty impressive feat. The movie mode is great, lots of fun. The only thing I don't really like is the lens cap, and the fact I had to buy the cradle, ni-cad battery, and memory card, but other than that extra expense it's a great little camera. Well worth the price.....
