Pros: Plays a wide variety of files on a wide variety of media with no trouble. Cons: Poor remote and difficult availability make it hard to find. Has also been discontinued.
I've got a big DivX collection. Well...that's not giving it the credit it's due. Anyways after realising my non progressive scan Samsung player (with the best video output being S-Video) just wasn't cutting it I decided to look at some new DVD players. ...
Pros: Supports EVERY video format. Versatile. Firmware upgradeable. Price. Plays MP3s, JPEGs and flash memory cards. Cons: Not a very responsive remote control. Occasional system crashes when playing poorly burnt CD's.
The moment I saw this product mentioned in Maximum PC magazine, I just knew I had to have it. Even though I live in Canada and I was unable to find a store that sold this beast, somehow I had to get my hands on it. The thought of being able to play DivX ...
Pros: Lets you quickly and easily alter the aspect ratio of video files. Cons: Had many little problems after two years of regular use.
Note: Even though this is titled the Liteon LVD2002 DVD Recorder, my unit is not a DVD recorder. Just a plain old DVD player with DivX functionality. It is model LVD2002 though. I bought this one used from a seller on eBay for about $220. It looked to ...
Pros: AVI Cons: Video/Audio navigation, no interface to the PC or MAC
The Liteon Phomaster LVD-2001 will play MPEG 1 or 2 in VCD, SVCD, DVD formats AND in MPG format. It will also play MPEG 4 in AVI format encoded by DIVX 4.0 and above or by XVID. In this format it is possible to store 6 good quality, feature length films ...
Cheap Cheap Cheap (in the negative sense) by danibe ,Jan 24 '04
Pros: None. For $50 I could get what I needed (http://tinyurl.com/z6zk).
Cons: HORRIBLE & USELESS customer service.
Not as advertised.
Cheap, unresponsive remote control.
Claims to do a lot (see specs), but in reality does (if it does) it very poorly. Slow, sluggish and not very responsive. The worst remote control I have ever seen.
But wait! This is not the worse part. The worse part is its customer service: slow, evasive (to the point you start suspecting that they have something to hide) and USELESS.
A very telling evidence can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/2ss5p
