Pros: Resolution of 1.3M is excellent by any measure in a webcam. The software works well.
Cons: Expensive, somewhat heavy and difficult to mount.

I use this webcam to provide an image for my online weather station. It has performed admirably in full sunlight and the darkest of nights. The image resolution is exceptional, color accuracy is fine and image brightness and contrast are wonderful and easily adjusted with their full featured software. The tilt/rotate mechanism is smooth and reliable. Installation was easy and the tilt/rotate/zoom features all work flawlessly. This is all the webcam I would ever need and worthy of a 9+ rating. I would buy this webcam again.

My hobby is taking things made for this and using them for that.So rather than pay 500 dollars for a pan tilt outdoor camera , I paid 100 bucks and got the same thing .

Slapped a little tap on it and mounted it with glue outdoors ..works great .

I have been having this web cam for a few months now and I love it. My pictures come out clear and crisp. The face-tracking feature is wonderful especially for someone like me, because I am always moving around doing other things in my office, while I am chatting with family and friends. Whatever I'm doing, no matter if I'm sitting at my desk or not I am still heard because the microphone on this particular web cam is awesome. The microphone picks up the slightest of noises. I have been using only Logitech products for years because they have never let me down, and I love the ease of use software that comes with their products.

I bought it to work with Skype on Vista. It is Certified for Windows. It works well, but not with Skype. Many other people have reported this incompatability

Usually I find epinions reviews to be quite good, but I have to say that I think the people who gave negative reviews for this webcam do not know what they are talking about. I have a new logitech orbit and 4000 pro sitting in front of me right now and the orbit is obviously superior in every way. On the orbit the image quality is noticeably better, the image is noticeably lighter and clearer in low light conditions and you don't have to focus it. The face tracking seems somewhat useless but you don't have to use it if you don't want to. I personally like being able to remotely adjust the camera angle with the motorized head. Another interesting feature that I found is that the video files for the orbit are half the size of the 4000 pro's. I guess the orbit can do some compression that the 4000 pro can't. One thing I would recommend about the orbit is that you shop around, some shops will charge significantly more than others.

When i use the camera with face tracking option switched on, it just doesn't track my face or itll stay on my face and then suddenly move a lil higher to the fan and im out of the area...can be very very annoyin at times

I bought the camera because of the face tracking feature that seemed nice and useful as I use webcams a lot with messenger. The face tracking ended up not working, forcing me to leave it off if I didn't want my webcam to be filming the roof all the time, or zoom somewhere on the wall behind me. It ended up being used as a regular webcam without face tracking capabilities.
