This Medal will not have a bright Rising Sun

by mattxgnome , May 15 '07
Pros: The graphics are okay, some missions are exciting..
Cons: ..while most missions are boring, lame A.I., story, really easy/hard missions.
I am literally confused right now. The action-packed and thrilling series of Medal of Honor isn't suppose to be like this. Rising Sun is a prime example of a good videogame series going downhill. The other games, Frontline and European Assault were ...

Sun-Burned

by reggaehonour , Aug 23 '05
Pros: Gameplay itself isn't too bad, with some neat objectives. Some variation on MOH run/gun.
Cons: Excessive health kits, insane-to-achieve extras, interactive depth offset by irritation, poor detection.
I buy things on a budget, so I don't mind being behind a year or two on video games. However, after purchasing MOH: Rising Sun, I may rethink my economical philosophy. MOH: Rising Sun takes a while to uncover its flaws. The intro is movie-quality, ...

Medal of Honor:Rising Sun::Shoot, run, and well that's about it...

by callaway9198 , Jan 09 '04
Pros: Multi-player on the internet...
Cons: Pretty much everything else...
Being a fan of EA games, this particular game is one that could change this judgement. I have played the prequel to this called Medal of Honor:Frontline, which was a great game for that time. Decent plot, sensible objectives, and deeper. ...

Not exactly what I had expected, but a fun game nonetheless.

by jakas , Jul 30 '04
Pros: Historically accurate, awesome sound, longer missions, extra features, Pearl Harbor mission, multiplayer
Cons: Only NINE missions, somewhat mediocre graphics, multiplayer could've been better, sometimes idiotic AI
The Medal of Honor series are always known to take your breath away with killer sound and some really awesome gameplay. The first two games were pretty successful, then came MOH: Frontline. That game gave new life to the series, by adding in even more ...

What Were They Thinking?????

by njdevilsfan01 , May 02 '04
Pros: Just the beginning level.
Cons: Levels are boring, A.I. too easy to kill, controls.
When I heard about the release of Medal of Honor Rising Sun, I was very excited.....That was until I actually played the game. When the Medal of Honor FrontLine came out, the game was hyped to be one of the best, and actually it was. But when the ...

Be sure to skip Medal of Honor: Rising Sun....

by 1delete , Dec 28 '03
Pros: Innovative, beautiful scenarios (jungle, mountains, buddist temple/statues) Visual effects-fire, explosions, etc.
Cons: 1) Overpriced 2) Lack of depth/length of game 3) Lacks thoroughness of plot
This game lacks in depth and length, and is way overpriced for the gaming experience that you receive. Considering length and depth, I received this dearly anticipated by me, PS2 game, as a gift for Christmas on Thursday morning. By Saturday evening, I ...

My Least Favorite Medal of Honor Game
by SYCO ,Apr 17 '05
Pros: Gritty, lots of shoot em up, blow em up, good times.
Cons: Easy, story line is diluted.
I've played most of the other medal of honor genre. All have been gritty, dirty, and stunningly realistic accounts of WWII. Thoroughly enjoyable and a real sensory overload.

This is I must say, the worst of a wonderful group of games. It's not bad when compared to other shooters, but it is when compared to Medal of Honor peers.

Gameplay is alright, though the colors are a bit much to look at, and the ease at which you can pass the levels is rather weak. Not much of a challenge after a day or two.

Bottom line, get it if you're bored, but not before you've acquired the other MOH games.

Medal of Honor takes you there again...
by northernchief ,Feb 12 '04
Pros: World War II experience in a new location, good presentation equal with other MOH games.
Cons: Enemy & friendly AI poor at times
The MOH franchise for EA games has always carried the distinction of taking you to a specific time and place during World War II. You got to take part in truly historic events such as the landing at Omaha beach and operation Market Garden in MOH: Frontline. In this aspect, Rising Sun is right in line. You put in the game disc, watch the opening video, and without even going to a main menu, you are thrown into one of the most horrifying attacks during World War II. The opening level of Pearl Harbor was enough to make me like this game, and the game takes you to other historic WWII locals. In this regard I think one shouldn't be quick to judge Rising Sun. At times the AI is poor, and the actual FPS gameplay isn't quite up to the standards of Frontline. But the game still puts you in the middle of a brutal war and you really do feel like you are taking part in it. That's what all the games in the Medal of Honor series set out to do, and Rising Sun accomplishes that.

Let it be "Setting Sun"...please
by automatts ,Dec 21 '03
Pros: Decent graphics
Cons: Expensive, ridiculously few missions, very bad enemy AI
It's truly remarkable how the same manufacturer who kicked out the amazingly clever, complicated and engaging first "Medal of Honor" for PS2 could also produce something that is exactly the opposite in virtually every way. Simple to play, easy to beat, thoroughly bad enemy AI, about half a dozen missions that take just a few hours to beat entirely (when I got to the end, I kept searching the disc, the brochure, the box...thinking that there must have been some mistake) ...this game is one of the poorest reasons to spend $50 I could ever come up with.
