This vacuum is everything the salesperson said it would be, and more. Cleans like the dickens, and with 3 cats, I need it! And oh, so quiet!

The attachments are easy to put on/off, and store in a little compartment, so they're always handy. The exception is the floor tool, which does not store onboard. The power bar is great for my oriental rugs - cleans them, but doesn't beat them to death.

Cord is long and easily retracts.

Pricey, but well worth it.

I cannot say enough fabulous things about my Miele vacuum!

I have had mine for 5 years and bought it because of the micro filter to get the pet dander up. This thing will remove anything you throw at it, unlike my previous vacuum, a eureka canister.

I have used this thing continuously and brutally every week for five years, cleaning a 4 floor Victorian and it stills work great. I see the newer models in the store and lust after them, but I really can't justify buying a new one since this model cleans like the first day I got it.

It costs more, but does the job well and has nice features like an expandable/collaspable handle for storage.

My husband and I purchased this vacuum cleaner 10 years ago after we got married. The $700 price tag back then was pretty steep, but we wanted one that would last. After doing a lot of research, we settled on the Red Star.

We still have the same vacuum cleaner. We have always had 2 cats in our household and it's stood up well over the years. We have taken it in for service once to replace the power cord that had been frayed and had it cleaned out at the same time.

I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner...and hope that the construction now is as good as it was when I purchased mine seeing as I will probably buy this one again. Not because mine is broke. It's not... it's still working as good as it did on Day 1. My mother stayed at my house for a couple of weeks and just loves it over her Electrolux. So she's getting a new vacuum cleaner.

Cons: it doesn't store like an upright (but it does stand on its side).

I spent several days shopping for a new vacuum on the internet, and I'm so happy I trusted the other reviews I read about the Red Star. It is a little pricey, but I feel I bought the most reliable, hard-working, and QUIET vacuum! This machine truly has superior engineering. I assembled it in less than 5 minutes and it works like a dream! Its wheels and hose assembly rotate very easily. I can turn corners with the brush, and contort it and it moves right along with me. I have carpets wall to wall, and the Red Star w/ the Powerbrush is perfect for the job. The bristles can be turned on and off with a switch at your hand. It has incredible suction which is adjustable from 200 to 1200.

Pros: easy to use, cleans wonderfully, picks up cat litter without spraying it back
Cons: the price, usually no sales on them.

I must admit this but i have bought 5 vacuums in the past 15 years. None held up. It was hard spending $599.00 but I have had the greatest luck. I love the way the head fits right under my sofa and chaires, and with the click of the switch near my thumb it goes from rugs to floors. I love that hassel free feature that helps me clean the house faster so I can have fun with the kids. I know i won't need a new vacuum for many years to come. I too am very happy with my pricey Miele. I bought mine used and it will be the last vacuum I ever buy. Its that good. 2 cats. All wood floors. Picks up cat hair. Upgrade to a HEPA filter and you eliminate Dander problems. The Red Star comes with a Power nozzle, the White star comes with a Turbobrush. I have one room (8x8) with carpet in it. The Turbobrush works great on it. What I like the most is how QUIET this unit is. Both my cats used to run for the door when I pulled out the old Eureka. Now they will stay in the same room. The handle is small enough to not bother my arthritic hands. The bags looked small and I thought they would fill up very fast but I haven't found that to be true and I vacuum 2 to 3 times a week. If only I had had the Miele when I got the cats I could have trained them to let me vacuum them directly!
