Pros: Graphics at the time, Great Games, Works Most of the Time, Controllers Cons: Sometimes non-cooperative, old
My family's first video game system, was the Magnavox Odyssey, which my father purchased sometime in the early 1980's. I still remember playing the bowling game with him, that alternated between blue and green screens, depending on which players ...
Pros: a lot of classic games Cons: got to kick box it to get it to work.
All right if there is one thing I can’t stand is young kids today running down the NES. Yes your PS2’s and your Xbox’s may be more powerful and run all those fancy movie scenes and realistic graphics, something that the NES doesn’t but if it wasn’t for ...
Pros: Fun factor, games. Cons: Age, hardware, more buttons on the controller might be nice.
So this is my review on the Nintendo NES, the system that has stood the test of time, led the industry for video games, and... collected dust. Anyway, I got mine at a yard sale for $2.50 w/ Tetris 2 for SNES. (NES was basically $2.) $2?! Yes. It was ...
Pros: The Nes2 not only looks cool but it plays well too. Cons: It's a shame the video outlets are gone.
Almost every gamer out there knows about the insanely popular Nintendo Entertainment System, eh? I still say it is one of the best gaming consoles ever made and on August 8, 2006 I managed to do the impossible and find every licensed Nintendo ever made ...
Pros: NES. actually came with two games a zapper and two controllers for 120 dollars. Cons: Forty-five dollars for a game in the eighties.
Some of the readers may scoff at the Nintendo eight bit system. The Nintendo 8 bit system however was a big step for its' time. Just think of one of it's forerunners the Atari. Many of the Atari games were made up of oversized squares and dots. Not many A ...
Pros: Great exclusive games; fun and simple gaming; the top loader is a durable system Cons: The common front loader is troublesome; a lot of terrible games
Those folks over at Nintendo sure knew what they were doing when they released the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) to the U.S. in 1985. This console showed up at just the right time as the video game market was still reeling from the crash of 1984, ...
Pros: Good system with classic games Cons: Had to blow on games and console when not working
I probably received this as a gift in the early nineties, but I still play it. I believe that a lot more went into this console as far as games strategy, game plot, game characters and game skill. The only thing that was bad about it was that when the ...
Pros: Accessories, Some of the Best Games Ever, Classic Cons: Controller, Blowing Into The Console, Not Being Manufactured Anymore
The 80s is a decade that everyone has a story about. Looking back on the vague memories I have of it, everything seemed so different. If I had any wish in the world I think I would wish to have been born 10 years earlier just so I could experience this ...
Pros: Fun for everyone, cheap games, brings back those days of long ago! Cons: Sometimes you need to wrestle with the games to get them to play.
You can be sure that the NES is still played almost every weekend by my friends and me. We all grew up on this wonderful machine, and have no intentions of letting it pass. While the performance of the NES is getting worse, just a blow on the cartridge ...
Pros: The most fun system ever Cons: pretty simple to play but hard to find
I remember being a kid and my dad used to try to get us to play Atari. We were too caught up in playing out NES system. We had games galore that came in a wide variety which was absolutely great for our home of two girls and a boy. There are fighting ...
Pros: the games, the memories!, came with 2 controllers, it was sturdy Cons: poorly designed controller buttons, cartridge part is awkward, outdated hardware, expensive games and accessories
"... they stand on the shoulders of giants" Many of the advancements in gaming consoles are due to the success of the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES. While Atari 2600 was the father of the home unit, the NES was the prodigal son. Nintendo ...
Pros: It is a classic for anyone and the games are fun as hell. Cons: Hard to clean over the years.
Nintendo was the first really popular video game system marketed in America. It was way better than Intelivision and the graphics actualy resembled things other than brightly colored box like objects. Nintendo also was one of the first game consoles to feature 2 player games, but no THE first. It was easier to clean, maintain and was presented in a sleek style, and even later was introduced in new fashions. One of these new fashions was the first top loading game console ever. It resembled an older Nintendo 64. All of the games for Nintendo NES are classics and not to be thought low of. It is in my opinion the greatest game system ever. The games for it a fun and way back then I think that the game programmers really cared about the fun of a game and a plot, not just the special effects which is certainly what they do now and days.

Pros: Everything Cons: RF adaptors suck IMO, connectors wear out
It may be old and the graphics/sound may be dated, but I still use it alot. I love that every game is very different yet very fun for this system. I've played Super Mario Brothers a ton... It's still fun even though I finally beat it. The multi-player cames rock on this system too. My favorite being Bubble Bobble and super ninja turtles. Both allow both players to play at the same time and are very fun.
The console & games are very cheap right now. Buy it while you still have a chance to own a piece of history.
Pros: its a legendnary game system and fun to play Cons: it is hard to find now days outdated graphics
Oh I named it the great one the first time i played mario zelda exicte bike and all the dragon warriors and better than the atari 2600 of coarse i only played that system a few times it has a couple of good games but nintendo had game charcters like mario zelda and ice climbers metriod were all great the nes system had a few problems like u had to blow in the game system and some connecters tend to wear out and all and the controllers were all right and simple to play only a few buttons like a and b start select and the curser so anyway it is hard to find this game system dont get me wrong some games can be expensive too like dragon warrior 3 and 4 and river city randsome was awasome u buy food for health and fight i forgot who was trying to rescue its been so long and all well anyway i reconmend u picking this system up try pawn shops goodwills to try and find this game system good luck happy hunting for it.
Most Remembered Game Console by jena8888 ,Dec 06 '03
Pros: Classic innovator of present systems. Memorable games. Educational. Cons: Sadly surpassed and harder to come by then Super Nintendo.
This system will always be an classic. Truth be told if you have one keep it and if you don't it's time to find one. It's not too hard to find. I've come across a few for about $50 in working condition at my local Game Crazys located inside various Hollywood Videos. The games are fond memories of old times. Not to mention your kids can still enjoy the educational aspect of this system. Some games include Sesame Street and Fisher Price kids. Not as hi-tech as now but a unforgetable classic.
