Great Value for the Price
by jmacho ,Feb 21 '05
Pros: Outstanding value with rebates, can find nothing on the market today at that price point. Cons: Only 1 year warranty and warranty makes no mention of dead pixels.
I was looking for a low cost 17" without speakers to replace my CRT. I purchased the Proview at CompUSA during President's Day sale for only $150.00 with both a CompUSA $70. and Mfr $80. rebate. The Proview was being substituted for a similar BenQ. I did some side by side comparisons against similar low end (BenQ) and high end 17" monitors and I was very impressed. Brightness, contrast, and color detail resolution are very good. No problems, simply plugged it in and it autoconfigured to my PC. Unable to find any dead pixels. I would recommend for anyone looking for a inexpensive lcd upgrade although at the $299. retail price there are better deals.
My only concern is prompt rebate from the manufacturer. Less so with the CompUSA rebate- I will follow up if I encounter any problems.
