Pros: cheap, nice response time, slim, beautiful color quality Cons: i couldn't afford the 19 inch version!
I recently purchased this monitor off of walmart's website, after my 17 inch Princeton CRT decided to bite the dust. I got a really good deal on it. I paid 155 dollars after tax, shipping and insurance for this beautiful 17 inch LCD flat panel monitor. ...
Pros: Practical, functional, and best of all, an attractive price tag! Cons: Probably not considered as top of the line for flat panel monitors.
The more I looked at the CRT monitor sprawled over my entire desktop, the more anxious I became to end the relationship once and for all. Oh, sure, the 17" screen was a definite improvement over my previous 15" companion, but I was frustrated. We had ...
Pros: It's big! Slim, space saving. Cons: 12 hours old and a pixel out already.
I am renting a computer until my tax return comes in- and hubby rented a HP Pavilion s7320n Slimline PC and it came with this monitor from the RAC we used. They tried to say this is actually a Sony monitor- but so far I've found nothing on the ...
Pros: Sturdy build, bright display, good refresh, quality connectors, strong cables, solid plastic mold! Cons: No wall mount brackets on mold. No carry grip.
This LCD's images are very sharp and bright enough to be viewed in everyday lighting conditions. I use it outside on my deck and in my vehicle. The base and rotator are very well made. The 17-inch PL713s also features a fast video response time ...
Pros: Very crisp and true colors Cons: its dead after only 14 months of use $250 down the toilet :(
Ive had this monitor for 14 months and it is D.O.A. It started not turning on right away on comand out of screen saver mode, then we had to reboot the whole CPU for it to turn on, and then it came on with nothing but stripes, and now its dead.... I should have gone with a better known brand name for so much money and having to replace it after a little over a year of use . GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Pros: No flickering just easy reading and good looking. Cons: I'd like to be able to adjust the height of the screen and possibly tilt.
This monitor might not have the S__Y name but it sure seems to be easy on the eyes. It sits firmly on the desk with a circular stand. It's design is clean and will not date itself too soon. The controls are right up front rather than being hidden, which is nice.
Pros: clear and crisp display and the brightness is auto adjusting.
great for work. Cons: non found yet. Only have used for one day and can wright more later.
I purchase this monitor from micro center for 179.00 after rebates. Great lcd for work and son thought it wasn't bad for gaming graphics when I let him borrow it for 30 minutes :)
I love this 17" monitor! The pic is very clear and the frame attractive. Very easy to install & operate. Bought through Circuit City for $300 & received $100 rebate through the mail in which I actually received in a timely manner. All Pros for this!!!
Pros: Brightness, clarity, no ghosting, price. Cons: None.
Bought this last year to replace my ancient CRT. Looked at a whole bunch of highly-rated 17" monitors, and either there was a lot of ghosting or I couldn't afford them. Walked into the local Fred Meyer's store and this was in their computer department, running an aquarium program. I was transfixed by the brightness and clarity of the display, and *no ghosting*. It was on sale, plus there was a manufacturer's rebate (received in about a month), bringing the price down to well within my budget. Went back to work and asked the folks there who evaluate monitors about Proview, they said it was a good basic monitor. I've had it almost a year now, and still love it as much as the day I bought it.
Only caveat for those with DVI is that it's analog only, which is fine with me because my video card is analog only.
Proview 17" LCD has blurry text and ghosting. by orbit9090 ,Jan 02 '06
Pros: Reasonable price.
Attractive appearance.
Cons: Blurry.
Fixed power cord.
Height not adjustable.
Omits a very-high-pitched hum.
I use this monitor on a daily basis, and have tried it with several different computers. The results are the same:
On both Mac and PC, the 17" Proview LCD has sub-par display quality, with blurry text and ghosting (shadows). When in sleep mode, the Proview LCD omits a very-high-pitched hum. The power cord is fixed, and the height is not adjustable. You (don't) get what you (don't) pay for.
Despite the shortcomings, this monitor may be fine for occasional users on a budget who are simply replacing an old CRT type monitor.
Pros: This monitor has a great picture.
Easily installs.
Easy picture adjusting controls
Auto adjusting feature Cons: There are no cons for this monitor in my opinion. I love this thin monitor.
Great picture. Great thin design. Got it for a great price the day after Thanksgiving. I got it for under $200
Working great for 2 years and counting by aaron_gourley ,May 16 '06
Pros: Crisp, clear display. Takes up very little space on desk. Cons: Black screen appears to have slightly lighter spots on sides and middle (not uniform brightness)
Dollar for dollar, this has got to be the best LCD monitor that you can buy. Priced about $100 cheaper than the competition, I expected to get exactly that (a cheap monitor). It is now 2 years old, been used quite a bit and only has one burnt pixel (which I noticed after about a year, and isn't in a very noticeable place). The optimal resolution (1280 x 1024) is okay, but not as good as newer LCD as expected.
