Smaller and better

by daveP86 , Jan 13 '03
Pros: Unlike full-size CD players it is portable; Cheap disks; Plays MP3 and AAC
Cons: Doesn't play full-size CDs; Heavier than minidisk and solid-state MP3 players
Mini what?

MP3 on CD is the people's format - unlike minidisk or the solid-state devices, this device combines ubiquitous CDs with ubiquitous MP3. This player is unusual in that it only plays 3-inch/80mm "mini" cds. This is a great...

The product did perform as expected. The Anti Skip works, jogging, biking etc. Sound quality is excellent. With the media cost so low, it has been an excellent player. Resume is odd. It seems you cannot remove the battery, or power cord from the device without it loosing its resume place. I didn't like that it didn't come with a carring case, but it does fit into your pocket easily. The Battery life could have been extended if they had included ram/rom in the unit and not always spin the cd. I have an older mp3 player, one of the 12cm ones. Its antiskip doesn't work well, its bulky, requires specific formats to the cd you insert into it, only supports cbp rate mp3's.. In otherwords it has been on a shelf for some time. Giving it away to a friend. The sound is much better than the older mp3 player I have. Much cleaner and crisper. The extra bass works better on the new philips expanium.
