Pros: when working, prints relatively sharply Cons: misfeeds paper often, clean nozzles often
Before I get started, I'd like to comment that my printer says Epson Stylus Photo 820 and I use a macintosh, so I'm assuming that this is the product they mean. Really, I thought they were one and the same, but what do I know ;) This printer requres ...

This printer is worthless
by lousquyres ,Aug 22 '05
Pros: none Cons: Nozzles dry up--permanently--, colors turn blue in photos
Ink nozzles dry up continuously--company said must be turned off when not in use! Exchanged for a second one--it's worse! company refused replacement because out of warranty, despite same defect.

This is frustration.
by mboname ,Dec 03 '04
Pros: It is a nice looking printer sitting on my desk. Cons: Uses lots of ink and the print heads clog up.
It loves ink. The print heads keep stopping up which necessitates cleaning, not just once but 3 - 4 times, before I can print in color. It came with the computer and now I am looking to buy another brand. What do I love...the ink cartridges are easy to change...if you love changing those frequently.

The worst printer I've ever owned
by kamstudio ,Jan 28 '06
Pros: Does a decent job, when it wants to. Cons: Devours ink cartridges.
Both black and colored ink dump to clean the heads each time.
I've owned this printer (Epson stylus photo 820, using on PC), purchased new, for 2 years and my frustration level has about peaked. As noted by others, when it decides to actually print, it does as good a job as any other printer. But the total frustration of the clogged heads makes me want to set it in the middle of the interstate during rush hour... and watch.
I cannot count the number of times I have started a document to print while I went to attend to other things, so it would be ready on my return, only to find that it had printed indecipherable black streaks on every page. So it has now wasted time, ink and paper. It DOES love to drink ink - at >$30 a cartridge. This is my last Epson.

Finally gave up trying to unclog the printheads
by brodrs ,Mar 31 '08
Pros: good color when working Cons: clogs; 5 colors of ink in one tank
I had this model for a couple of years, and printed lots with it, but it seemed to clog a lot, and finally began to clog continuously with no relief provided by cleaning cycles.
