Economical, great prints, easy to care for by rogert6 ,Dec 02 '03
Pros: auto duplexing
prints on almost any paper
low cost per page Cons: makes clankety-clank noises
higher initial investment
not suitable for legal paper
I decided to purchase the Xerox Phaser 8200DP after considering some of the low-cost entry-level color lasers. After evaluating the total cost of ownership plus the hassle of keeping supplies on hand, I decided this product was worth the extra initial cost. (The rebate made it more attractive). I chose the DP model for the auto duplexing and networking. It's also got Postscript 3 and a bunch of fonts. The solid ink means I just feed it wax blocks, no swapping out plastic drums. And it prints great on the cheapest multipurpose paper. I've only been using it a short while but I'm very happy with my choice.
I use it in my mortgage business - primarily creating marketing materials - and it is great for personalized color mailings and brochures. It also does a decent job with appraisals. But I keep my B&W laser for generating letter and legal sized loan documents.
