Pros: Size; style; improved phone operation; much improved display; Blackberry email Cons: non-EDGE,non-3G compatable (upcoming model addresses this); tech support
For the past year, I've used a Blackberry 7280 to get my corporate email. I become hooked; now I know why they call them "Crackberries". As an email device, the 7280 is great. The 7280 broke the tether that kept me (and any other professional who has ...
Pros: Looks & feels good; secure in many ways, no accidental number pushing. Phone works Well. Cons: Limited Bluetooth capabilities, no external storage also not enough pda software.
Black Berry Exposed (7100t) A Very Bold Phone All you really need to know is that it is a well thought out phone. They key guard themselves (flushed to touch)and a cutting edge design which blends them together all in one. Accidental ...
I had the Motorola RAZR which I liked, but sold. I wasn't impressed with it after awhile, in fact the only thing I liked about it was the reception. I sold it and got a new unlocked Blackberry 7230 on ebay and I really liked that, especially for text ...
Pros: Great IM client, very usable keyboard, compact, great price! Fantastic if-you-live-in-a-good TMobile reception area Cons: deceptive signal strength meter, short battery life, no camera
FIRST OFF.... 1. Tmobile sets the default display theme to Tmobile's own color scheme. Very deceptively, this scheme's background shows five full green bars even when there is NO SIGNAL!. It's actually the # of black bars overlaying the green ...
Pros: Bluetooth headset support, small/light form factor, beautiful screen, polyphonic ringtones Cons: Small keyboard, difficult ringtone transfer, battery life, handicapped Bluetooth, screen dark unless active
The Blackberry 7100 is a major step forward for the Blackberry community, although it is also a step back. I'll explain. RIM introduced the 7100 series, which is basically the same phone for all carriers (the letter after the model indicates which ...
Pros: Always on e-mail, cool instant messaging, great combination of PDA and cell Phone Cons: Limited 3rd party software, seems fragile, no docking cradle or base
Like you reading this I wanted to ditch my cell phone and PDA so I can use one "SmartPhone" instead of two old units. To give you and idea of prior functionality I had a Nextel i95CL cell phone and a Toshiba e740 PDA. Useful features of the Nextel ...
Pros: Most phone-like Blackberry ever with reliable email functionality. Cons: Non-intuitive keyboard and so-so battery life. Cingular tech support is terrible.
I went from a Blackberry 7230 to a Palm Treo 650 and finally got a Blackberry 7100; all from Cingular. I hated the phone feature on the 7230 because it was clumsy. The hang-up button was right where you held the phone so I was constantly hanging-up. The ...
Before purchasing the RIM 7100t, I had service with AT&T, now Cingular and had kept the same Nokia phone for 3.5 years. When my contract was up, I couldn't wait to get away from Cingular but was having a hard time choosing between Verizon and T-mobile. ...
Pros: small size, geek points, email everywhere, built-in messenger client Cons: one from address, should use a proxy to help with larger graphical sites
This is an amazing phone. I love staying in touch with friends all the time. I crave connectivity. This gives me what I crave. Imagine, being out at the relatives, bored silly with no computer anywhere in sight. Well, that happened to me at ...
Pros: Great display, intelli-type works really well, crystal clear speakerphone, bluetooth, quad-band, lightweight Cons: Display is difficult to read outdoors (but it's great indoors).
This is a great phone! The screen is awesome. As far as a Blackberry, I came from a 7250 (VZW) and I am *much* happier with this one. The data connection is much faster (ie, web page downloads). The screen is easier to read. The phone is ...
I was recently forced to switch from my trusted Treo 650 (gave it to my wife) to the Blackberry 7100t by my company. Pros: 1. This is much more of a phone than all the other Blackberry devices. 2. It is GREAT for email--actually BETTER than the Treo ...
Pros: Great for email. Terrific telephone. Small and light. Cons: Not for the technology challenged but not just for geeks. Clunky for adding Contacts/Appointments.
This is a great device. To decide whether you should purchase, you must decide what's most important. If easy, frequent access to email is a priority, then get it. If updating your Appointments and Contacts is most important, stay away. The device also ...
Pros: The screen is the best so far; sharp, clear, and easy to read. Cons: The keyboard requires learning how to type differently.
Removing the item from the box you'll be struck by two things: the smaller size and the strange keyboard. The keyboard is in fact, not really a keyboard, but an expanded cellphone dial pad with letters on it. The narrower design of the unit fits nicely ...
Pros: Lots of capabilities Cons: Extremely poor programming and help files
This unit has many capabilities but using them requires using lots of poorly designed menus. Logic of getting to things is obscure at best. The help files are a set of questions the manufacturer made up which hardly ever answers what you need. It took me about twenty minutes to change the ring tone (change in profiles picking one of five, then edit, then phone, change tone for "in" and "out of" holster) with no assistance from help files (as usual). My old phone takes four button presses. I changed from smart edit to multiple hits for data entry when I got it four days ago and haven't been able to get it back. There's some help from a "Tips & Tricks" Adobe file on Blackberry's web site but it's far from complete. I'm an Engineer. I've programmed in numerous computer languages, and used many different pc applications. In comparison this thing is the pits.
Pros: Price, Size, Sleekness, Bluetooth Cons: T-Mobile interface, but you can switch to Blackberry's interface.
I've had it for a Week, I'm very happy with my purchase.
After rebate, final cost to me is $199.00.
That's an amazing price for what this PDA/Smart phone can do.
I'm a big fan of the TREO's, but I just couldn't justify spending $499 for one.
The 7100 series has Blue Tooth - great for those looking to get rid of all the wires.
I don't like the T-Mobile interface, so I converted it back to the Blackberry default interface.
Do yourself a favor and add this to your research - it's one powerful pda/phone.
By the way, I've read about T-Mobile's coverage (I was with Cingular). So far no complaints and the customer service has been stellar.
