Pros: No more lugging around my laptop (at least for short-term gigs). Cons: More wireless please.....
Hi. Remember me? I've been busy. Preoccupied. But most importantly I have a new toy. It's one of the best perks about working in the corporate world. New toys. Now I understand why men get giddy about these things and if you were to ask them ...
Pros: All-in-one Email/SMS/Wap/Phone, Internet capable with BES/MDS access. Cons: Cheap to buy, but "expensive to own". High monthly fees.
I've been disenchanted with mobile devices for a long time now. It seems every PocketPC, Palm or Mobile Phone did one thing well, but all else poorly. There's a pretty good rule about electronic devices. "Small, Cheap, Good, pick any two." This ...
Pros: Keyboard, no stylus to lose. Cons: Emits interference while receiving.
The 7280 is identical in appearance to the 7230. Having used both, I have found no discernable difference, aside from the fact that the 7280 was supplied by ATT/Cingular, and the 7230 was supplied by T-Mobile. Essentially, both are excellent ...
Pros: lots of options, durable Cons: low reception, numbers on keypad somewhat hard to find
I bought two blackberrys about a year ago. I paid about $150 for both phones on eBay. The phone came with two cords. One was to connect to a computer, and the other was for the charger. The charger has different travel charger adapters for charging ...
Pros: Easy to read color display; understandable graphics; very clear phone reception; great battery. Cons: Internet graphics are limited.
If Maxwell Smart had one of these, he could have gone barefoot! For the past eight months or so, I had been using a Blackberry RIM 957 for remote email. It is an impressive piece of equipment, but very much in the shade and outdated by the ...
Pros: email capabilities; large, clear color screen; very long battery life; keyboard; easy PDA functions Cons: Bulky for a phone; call quality just adequate (on Cingular)
For anyone who has wanted to have the freedom to send and receive email and have internet access without lugging around their laptop, the RIM Blackberry 72XX series (the specific model varies according to the wireless carrier you sign up with) goes a ...
Pros: It is my wireless email, phone, address book, calendar. Wonderful! Cons: Needs more fields in the contact list for additional information.
Email kept me in real estate business after Hurricane Charley. No phone signals were available in our Southwest Florida area but, with my Blackberry, I could email customers around the world. I have been with customers showing properties and been able to instantly respond to other customers by email while out and about. I captured a lot of business this way.
Pros: Excellent email and sound quality on calls Cons: Hard to surf web meaningfully
I have owned several blackberries now since they first started coming out, and have loved each of them. The blackberry service providers have also fixed a lot of the problems that used to exist with them (low voice quality/volume, not enough capacity on the email servers, too many bouncebacks, etc.). The latest blackberries and their service are terrific. The push email means that you can have long battery life and still get all of your emails as soon as they come in. You can also look at word, excel and pdf documents, though some tiff to pdf documents still do not convert to viewable. If desperate you can also surf the web to get a critical number or directions. I now own an iphone, and the email is not as good, though the web surfing is better. For business users, blackberry is still probably the product of choice.
Great e-mail device; so-so phone by devost ,Mar 23 '05
Pros: E-mail, battery life, QWERTY keyboard Cons: Phone features and convenience
Overall I have been happy with this phone for 15 months. I bought it to replace a separate PDA and phone, for the sake of cost and convenience. It has lived up to my expectations. After using it for a while as my primary phone, I do long for more phone features, like speakerphone, bluetooth, even a camera. And the screens on the newer 7100 and latest smart phones are pretty good compared to this one. But for corporate e-mail and calendar synching and occasional voice calls, this device is tough to beat.
Connected ALL THE TIME - I love it by cryclown ,Aug 22 '04
Pros: Ease of use, great display, long battery life Cons: Awkward style for phone use
I love this Blackberry - the pre-loaded applications are easy to use and the push-technology of Blackberry's email service is fantastic! Color screen is easy to view, even in strong light (which was one of the problems I had with my Palm prior to upgrading to a Blackberry).
I have service through the ATT GSM network and, with few exceptions, have service anywhere! I did have a SIM card error the other day (after approx. one month of use) but re-setting the card solved the problem. I would prefer a (free) html browser, but I think that will come as technology progresses.
Honestly, I don't use the calendar yet, as I haven't migrated my info from the Palm but the software is very similar. I use a separate phone for calls because I find the BB unit a little awkward to hold as a phone, but the email capacity is great - you can search by sender, link to email, phone or web page from the email message. And the battery charge holds forever!
Pros: Batt life, QWERTY keyboard, Services Cons: Only 16mb ram, poor light, some java errors and hangs
I have 2 years now with a 7280. NIce equipment, most people in my office have 7280 and 7290. Blackberry service is amazing, if you have BES in your company (the server), this is a very useful and incredible service
OPERATING SYSTEM WEAK DON'T BUY by nychang75 ,Sep 12 '04
Pros: Great functionality Cons: operating system NOT robust, Very Unstable but with caution
The functionality of the Blackberry PDA is wonderful - it can "do it all" - email, phone, PDA, calendar, etc.
Here's the CATCH: The operating system is unstable and crashes all the time!
The O/S is built on a JVM platform, Java Virtual Machine. (I happened to program custom apps in Java for five years so I know a little bit about Java programming).
RIM needs to improve this O/S, I get Abort Exception errors all the time. The O/S is not stable nor robust enough to handle frequent use. I've gone through two Blackberry's in three weeks, and now I have to get another one!!!! Thank goodness it's under warranty.
DO yourself a favor and but this product WITH CAUTION.
