I don't have a good luck with Sanyo. After buying for $247.00 after two months it died on me. I think I will go with Sony or Panasonic, even I have to pay for couple of hundred extra. It is always pain to move this big heavy box around. I guess my opinion is to stay away from this cheap Sanyo brand items.

I purchased this model about 25 months ago. It is now almost unwatchable as the picture constantly varies in width.
Not a satisfactory performance for a $400 set in my view.

Just bought this TV at wal-mart for $228 plus tax. They are clearing them out! Bought it mostly cause consumer reports rated this set one of it's top 5 best buys in an article in January of 04.
have to say There is nothing on the market out there in that price range with the picture quality this TV has. The flat screen makes quite the difference too!
Price 27 inch flat screens TV and you will see there is nothing out there that compares! plenty of unexpected features too!

Just returned an RCA 27" true flat due to bowing problems a week after purchase. With refund, purchased this Sanyo model. We have a 20" sanyo true flat as well, and love it. So far, this Sanyo is great... excellent picture quality... good sound... easy menu and features. Great price as well... $228 at Walmart... with a 12 month warranty thru walmart, with receipt.

I also purchased at WalMart. However, after about 30 days I returned the set.

I agree that the picture quality if very good and I do like the flat screen. However, the set has many sound issues that my prior JVC does not have.

First, there is no "smart sound" feature, so that there are
different sound levels between stations and also there is no compensation for commercials which are much louder than
regular programming. Secondly, and THE MOST SIGNIFICANT COMPLAINT, is that if you enter a station number in the remote that is an open station (ie a station that is not broadcasting - either because it has gone off the air late at night, or you entered the wrong station number - the static noise is accelerated and is quite loud and annoying.
My prior JVC had noise muting which in this situation immediately went to a blue background and cut out the noise.
Lastly, the surround sound is uneven sounding.

I agree that the picture is good and the value is there-but the sound issue was too major for me and caused me to return the set.
