Pros: Inexpensive flatbed scanner with excellent resolution and generous software bundle. Cons: Takes a bit longer than I would like to start a scan.
It had been a while since owning my last flatbed scanner; I'd been without one for almost 5 years. I substituted by using the HP flatbed scanner (which was excellent) at my former place of employment. That flatbed could scan at resolutions as high ...
Pros: Comes With Software, Its Fast, Reliable, Quality Scans, Bang For Buck! Cons: Scanner Glass Gets Dirty Quick
I used to own one of those 2nd generation scanners that connect to your parallel port. It was a Visioneer Paperport and I never really liked it. Its max resolution was like 800DPI and it was very slow to scan a 8 * 11 page at 300DPI let alone 800 lol. We ...
Pros: Scans slides and negatives. Inexpensive. Cons: noisy - slow - not painstaking but a bit too slow.
I purchased this scanner from Buy.com for about 130 US dollars. I have not regretted since it not only scans prints, but because the cover is backlighting, it also scans negatives and slides. It comes with an adapter to place negatives and slides and I...
Pros: Small, compact, good software bundle, USB 2.0 Cons: Horrible scans, slow, lifeless color, and problems with drivers
I purchased the Canon CanoScan D1250U2F scanner because of the brand name, the software bundle included, and the use of USB 2.0, which few scanners have yet to use. Be aware your computer must have a USB 2.0 port to use this feature, most have USB 1.1....
Pros: fast scan on 81/2 x 11 at 1200dpi Cons: way to many
Do not buy this scanner. I took this unit home and a Microtek 4850. There was no comparision! Problems with the Canon: over saturated colors, poor detail, very slow scans on small documents due to every time you scan a document the pharase "adjusting...
Pros: Ease of use, quality of scans from slides and negatives Cons: usb2 technology requires another purchase for your computer
Let me just say that I have used a few dedicated film and slide scanners and I must say that this scanner holds up to them if not surpasses. The one major plus with this unit is that it comes with Adobe Photoshop LE. The only drawback is that it doesnt...
Pros: VERY easy to install & use Cons: a little noisey
I purchased this scanner after having a horrible experience with my previous scanner. First let me say I am not computer savy at all. This scanner was easy to install and even easier to use. It has a sleek design which does not take up a lot of room...
Pros: fast, high res, quiet, kickass OCR software Cons: Doesn't scan photonegatives quite so well as Canon says it will
I got this scanner to replace an HP ScanJet that had a faulty board. It does almost everything Canon claims it does. The resolution is excellent, the TWAIN interface with Photoshop is seamless, it's fast (scanned a 3.5x5" photograph @ 300dpi in less than...
Was afraid of this scanner... by willy_dt3002 ,Jan 22 '03
Was afraid of this scanner because of some of the reviews I had read , I will tell you most of them were way off. I loaded the software and did a test scan of a colored picture. The results were great.
I have scanner news clippings and letter, all with easy and very good results.

Does a reasonable job of scanning slides and film unless they are dark and then it introduces noise that is magnified as red dots in underexposed areas, especially when sharpened. Slow to get going, particularly on film.
