Pros: Quiet, clean, beautiful. Cons: Price is just a little too steep...but it's ultimately worth it.
Before I walked into the Staples store to buy my Sony SDM HS73 (17 in.) Flat Panel (TFT) Monitor, I did some research. I was buying a new VAIO machine (see my other review of the RS430G) and since that computer didn't come with a monitor, I was ...
Pros: Stylish, good image quality, size & weight, rebate. Cons: Some shades of green misrepresented. Not as bright as other LCDs. See update at end.
Im a graphic designer by profession and have been using graphics-specific monitors for years. They produce the smooth, sharp graphic images I need to see in my everyday work, and are infinitely adjustable to match what I see on-screen with printed ...
Pros: Style, image quality, Its a Sony, no tinny crappy speakers, extremely lightweight Cons: Honestly none
When I first began shopping for a new LCD monitor to replace my old CRT, I at first wanted at least an 18" monitor. That was until I saw this monitor. I swear, I know if its the style or what but it just looks bigger than its 17". It is absolutely...
Pros: nice bright picture, sleek design Cons: more money than I like spending
I'm a little behind. I don't get on the new technology right away but my computer is on it's death bed and my monitor makes it hard for me to do desktop publishing so...I had to break down. I considered just about every monitor out there. I was ...
Good, but has one disadvantage by kasyx23 ,May 22 '04
Pros: lightweight, space-saving, no reflections, no glare Cons: texts look bleeding at low resolutions, they don't look real sharp
Everything is good about this monitor except for texts which are not as sharp as shown in CRT monitors. I asked the salesperson who said it's normal for all LCD monitors. He said it's something to do with different pixels that CRTs have that LCD monitors don't. I had to return it to the store for credit, so I can get bigger CRT instead.
I looked around a long time..... by jrhusc ,Mar 20 '05
Pros: Great color on LCD, clean nice look for monitor Cons: CD for set up and adjustment directions is confusing
I knew LCD was not the same as CRT, so I was aware of the diff. I have a Samsung LCD also, this Sony is so much better it is astounding. It was on the high price side of similar LCDs, but I am sooo glad once I got it home. It is so much brighter and clearer than I ever expected.
The photo on this website makes the base look funky-but you never even really notice it. See it in the store and judge that way.
I'm very happy with it, to the point I may replace my perfectly good Samsung LCD with an identical one.
The CD for set up and adjustment directions is confusing. I went to Sony online support and had to wait a long time, got some help while waiting for responses. But while I was waiting, I had copied the PDF file onto my hard drive so I was able to answer my own questions as I read it while waiting. I also asked that our online chat text be emailed to me but it never was.
