Pros: Price, features, accessories, software packaged, quality of pics, adequate ZOOM, and upgradeable memory. Cons: Battery drain, small LCD, and no manual focus.
My Visioneer MX230 has almost all the same features of significantly more expensive cameras. I am extremely happy with the zoom, picture quality, display/viewing features, adaptability, and ease of use. ...
Pros: 2MP w/ 3MP ability
Capture 60sec clips w/audio
4 WB modes and 3 Focus modes. Cons: 2 AA batteries = faster battery drain.
No "manual" shooting modes
3x Zoom is adequate.
This is a very good inexpensive camera. It is enough to get a novice started in digital photography. I have been using this camera for several months and wish to provide some additional incite into the camera. Here are some key specs/features:
...
Pros: Easy control set; very inexpensive; good pic quality Cons: Monstrous battery hog with alkalines - you simply MUST use lithiums or rechargables
We purchased this camera for our business to use in documenting quality issues around our locations. We didn't want to spend a great deal, and because we weren't planning to enlarge photos (we'd primarly be attaching photos to e-mails to various ...
A good camera for someone just getting into digital photography by eskuc ,Dec 15 '03
Pros: Value, good picture quality, video w/ audio mode, ease of use, sufficient zoom Cons: short battery life, lcd hard to see in sunlight, autofocus ONLY
In this price range, it is difficult to find a camera that outperforms the MX 230. Overall a great camera especially for the price.
Useful features include:
Useful software package
cables and cords included
many resolution modes
different settings for different lighting conditions
zoom is sufficient for most users
can capture 60 second video with sound (and replay it with sound)
USB transfer
good pic quality.
i have never filled the 32 MB memory card and have taken more than 60 pics on the highest res without erasing the card.
Disadvantages of this camera:
Battery drain not tolerable with regular alkalines. (get some rechargeables)
Internal memory is 8MB. This is not enough so get a card (at least 32MB)
Can be difficult to see the LCD in bright sunlight.
Flash is only effective within about 15 feet.(this is average)
This is a great camera for the price, which in my case was $100.
First Digi cam first week so far so good by tobbz ,Aug 24 '04
Pros: Price, Zoom, nice picture quality, Price, video out, can use as a webcam Cons: most say batteries but just have to be aware and have backups
Just purchased this cam for 100 canadian last week...the battery drain like every one else mentions is something to watch..but i didn't have too much trouble with it...bought a pack of energizer batteries and a memory card for an all day trip to the fair and never had any battery power trouble all day, took about 40-50 pics turning it on and off...for the pics...even did a couple secs of movie was pretty cool...outside pics are nice and crisp was shooting at 1600x1200 i believe...am very satisfied cost almost as much for a memory card as the cam :P
The video out is a nice feature and finding optical zoom on a 2mega pixel cam at this price point seems hard to beat.
Owned two digital cameras before... by steve_dt3020 ,Mar 24 '03
Owned two digital cameras before trying Visioneer...it has outperformed the others in quality and ease of use. Has 3x optical zoom and digital zoom...review of images is simple.
Can also be used as PC camera to make videos using PC screen (explained in instructions). Also 60 second .avi clips. Extra memory through MMC card...I use NiMH rechargeables and get good life from each charge. Viewfinder very simple to use. Overall, an excellent camera for the price.
