Pros: small, lightweight, versatile, and functional. Good value Cons: battery life, directional buttons are hard to get right, no ac adapter included.
Our first digital camera was a little polaroid that got about 1/4 megapixel for resolution (320 X 280 around there?) without a flash. Then we stepped up to a Vivicam 3500. It was only 1.2 megapixels. It had a flash and took pretty decent pictures, but had ...

Pros: 3.3 mega-pixel camera for under $200; movie clips Cons: Battery life and LCD used
I felt like an idiot. I got to my car, after purchasing the Vivitar ViviCam 3715, and completely overlooked the zoom capability before I bought the camera. My chihuahua, Toni, was laying in the seat beside me, annoyed that I was so wrapped up in ...
Pros: Uhhh--One year warranty--you're gonna need it! Cons: Inhaling melted plastic fumes is harmful to your lungs!
From Walmart--$157--good price. Seemed to have plenty of amenities for the price--at least it SEEMED to.... Lens cover is very flimsy and prone to get sprung. LCD difficult to see--but this is a given for most digitals. AC adapter a must because ...
I was unlucky enough to receive one of these cameras as a present. Although the pictures is takes are acceptable, the overriding problem with the camera is the short battery life. I bought a Maxell recharger and 4 rechargeable batteries to go along with ...

Pros: You read this review so you can save yourself time and frustration. Cons: Camera devours batteries, download instructions don't work.
No bargain, even at $132. Battery (which came with camera) went dead after first use, (two pictures!!) No biggie, bought Energizers the next day. Took photos of my 4 day old son & his 3 year old brother with their grandmother. Pictures appeared to be ...
Pros: Low cost, good quality, excellent upgrade or new user camera. Cons:*EATS* regular batteries (buy Ni-Cd rechargeables), no direct TV-out.
Now, I'm not the type that usually gets up for those "Black Friday" (day-after-Thanksgiving) sales, but the chance to snag a 3MP+ digital camera for under $100 was too hard to pass up. I had actually found two cameras that I had wanted: This one and a ...
Vivitar 3715--2 strikes, you're out!!! by tarpleyg ,May 21 '05
Pros: Price, I guess...No time to find out anything else. Cons: You get what you pay for. Flimsy and poor quality.
Well, since Vivitar doesn't have an e-mail address or toll free customer service number I guess I'll air my experience here about the piece of junk camera they are selling. I bought a 3715 two weeks ago and took about 3 pictures with it before it powered off and would not power back on. I took it back today and exchanged it for a new one. Well, wouldn't you know it--I had the same result except this time I did get any pictures. Vivitar should really pull this crap off the shelves at retailers. I am going to return it and get a Canon which I should have done to begin with. Vivitar can feel free to contact me to make some sort of restitution for the inconvenience this product has caused me.
A Good First Digital Camera, But Bring Extra Batteries by kel12347 ,Jan 14 '04
Pros: Compact, easy to use, USB cable included, video mode Cons: Occasional shutter lag, high battery usage
I bought this camera to take photos of friends and family, and occasionally for work. The camera is compact and lightweight. The menu and instructions are easy to understand. At times, I have experienced shutter lag, up to fifteen seconds, with this camera. In addition, the Vivicam uses batteries at what I consider to be an alarming rate. I used a total of four batteries (the camera requires two) within a six hour period. During this time, I used the camera for about fifteen minute intervals, and turned it off and removed the batteries the remainder of the time. The camera does have good photo quality, with up to 2048x1536 resolution. If you plan on using the camera for long periods of time, this may not be the camera for you. If however, you wish to take occasional pictures of friends, family and pets, give the Vivicam a try.
Great little camera for the general photographer..... by powerpitcher11 ,Feb 25 '04
Pros: Small, Light, easy to use, fantastic picture quality. Cons: Long flash load time, eats up batteries (as does all cameras with an LCD)
I have had this camera for about one year and it has been great. It has never broken, and it has always taken beautiful pictures. They come out flawless. The only real bad parts about this camera are that it has a long loading time for the flash, and it eats up batteries. My suggestion is to buy rechargeable batteries to save money. It is worth it. I have been using them ever since I brought the camera home, and it has worked fine. I got 4 batteries (the camera takes two at a time) so I would charge 2 and use 2 at a time. It works out great. This camera in my opinion takes flawlessly beautiful pictures and doesnt get enough credit. It is overall easy to use, and it comes with a cable so you can hook the camera directly to your TV and watch a slideshow of your pics. It comes with 8 mb of memory, which can hold between 6 and 8 pics alone. It also has an expansion slot for a memory card. It is a great camera for its price, and it will not let you down.
You get what you pay for! by nikiboyle ,Dec 23 '03
Pros: Mac compatible Cons: battery, shutter lag, built in, breaks easily, too cheap!
I thought that this camera was too good to be true, and I was right. The battery life was horrible, not to mention that it didn't come with an a/c adapter. The mega pixels were high, but everything else was pretty low. I found it too time consuming to delete photos or film clips. I also didn't realize that you are not able to add memory or change cards out, my mistake. The lag time for the flash was way too long if you are filming your kids or a party, as well. The only plus I could find was that it was compatible with my mac computer. The camera broke completely in less than a week. I returned it and decided to wait to get another digital camera.
