Pros: Price, color (comes in black and silver), bang for the buck Cons: Unintuitive menu setup, smaller remote, can't control the bass or tremble from the remote
If you find yourself short on cash and just have to buy a receiver the HTR-5730 is a very good choice. For around $200 it offers some nice tweaking options. If spending less then then $300 this receiver should be on everyone's short list. ...
Pros: cost Cons: remote, power and just unreliable
I'm no stranger to Yamaha... I've had an HT
R-5450
for some time that has been a tank and I love it, which lead me to get this when i was looking for a simple bedroom unit. First off is the sound which, when coming ...
Pros: Two optical inputs, beautiful clear crisp sound, under 200$. Cons: A powered subwoofer is necessary.Menu is kinda hard for people who dont like menus.
I got this reciever for myself for christmas.I love it. It has lots of good hookups. They added one more optical audio input for a total of 2.You can run all of your video thru this under 200 dollar machine.Very Very well worth the money. The setup menu ...
Pros: Plenty of bang for the buck
Typical clean Yamaha styling
A very clean sound Cons: Menus difficult to navigate
Lacks s-video in/out
I bought this amp nearly 2 years ago as part of a Yamaha "home theatre in a box" package and have been extremely satisfied since day one. Some folks mentionned "lack of power", and I guess if your aim is to rock the neighbourhood then this is ...
Pros: good features for price, good clean sound, Great looks, optical inputs Cons: Heavy use of remote in setup, power seams weak
OK, OK so this receiver definatly gets the job done. l'll admit getting it set up was a bit of a chore but worth the effort when I got through with it. I'm one of those computer type people and well i must say i have this attached to my computer receiving an optical signal from my audigy two sound card. It is absolutly amazing for this kind of an application, the power is a bit weak for the 100 watts per channel but it gets the job done. This is definatly a great product for the price and it looks great and sounds better, hop on it if your goal isn't to blow out people ear drums.
Find me a better amp for the price by w60i10 ,Jun 21 '04
Pros: Great amp, great sound, very inexpensive for features Cons: Perhaps lacking the power to shake the neighborhood. Tricky to deal with/set up.
This amp is great for any input sources both digital and analog and non coded and coded. The amp does seem a little weak for its rated 100 watts however it has always cranked with plenty of oomph for me. If you're looking to rock the neighborhood on a regular basis you probably should look at higher end models like the 5760 or even the 40. I didn't need 6.1 and figured the extra channel output was not worth the extra $100. This amp delivers more than I expected for the price. It has incredible sound for stereo and multi channel applications. It also has sundry user settings that allow for a multitude of sound options. Setting up the amp was sort of a time consuming process and it is never a quick one button procedure to switch between inputs. However, this amp sounds great and I don't mind pushing more than two buttons on the remote when I need to change something.
Pros: Excellent features like multiple inputs, clear Tuner reception, etc Cons: Subwoofer Crossover frequency is fixed and cannot be varied as in RXV 450.
Yamaha HTR 5730 is perfect if ur room size is between 150 to 250sq feet. The amp power may be a little less, but it also depends on which brand of speakers one uses.If speakers are of good quality Sound will be awesome.
Pros: Easy to configure. Sounds and looks great. Inexpensive. Backwards compatible with 18 year old remote. Cons: Only one coaxial digital input. Only switches composite video, not S-video or component.
My 18 year old Yamaha receiver started flaking out on me, it was the power regulator for the display and volume control motor. Still sounds great though. So on boxing day I decided to buy this receiver and at least enter the age of surround sound and digital.
I hooked it up to my fairly expensive B&W tower speakers, plugged in the digital signal and fired it up. I was blown away by the digital 5.1 sound. The walls were rattling even at relatively low volume, I won't be bothering with a subwoofer. I'm happy even with just the two speakers, but I will be picking up a couple of rears, and possibly a center.
Fast shipping ,Good site to buy, trust worthy by ashutosh_rv ,Nov 03 '04
Pros: very good site, really very fast shipping,Trust Worthy,Reciever is very good Cons: I have not found any one.
I Ordered 2 yamaha receivers, thought I didn't get any mail regarding my shipping ,when i called up they gave my Tracking no (Could be a software problem)but site is very good and they shipped items on same day.i buy many stuff on site ,this is one of best site where u can trust and they called me and confirmed me.
Box was in Original packed and I am delighted to do any further business with this site.
Pros: smooth refined sound Cons: not musical, where is the power?
Maybe its the Athena fs-1, but the 5730 does not have the "drive", the oomph I expected from 103 watts per channel... yes it has a smooth refined sound, but it seems the power is not getting out of the box. my nasty sherwood 6108 can drive the athenas better.
Pros: Very clear sound even at the lowest volume level. Easy-to-set-up remote. Good Price. Cons: It doesn't sound like a 100 watt/channel amplifier. All menus are confusing.
I bought this receiver because my onkyo TX-SR302 was defective. Fry's offered me this in exchange and I accepted. Man, I shouldn't. I have a perfect, vivid memory of the way The Lord Of The Rings sounded on my onkyo, and well... this HTR-5730 is quite disappointing. I think this is a good receiver for a person who: a) Is buying a receiver for the first time or b) lives in a very small apartment with unfriendly neighbors. However, Yamaha offers a specially clear, refined sound in each of the 5.1 channels (I've found no use for the sixth) and the 20 digital sound field programs can make (if chosen carefully) CD music sound terrific. The universal remote is a great add, it took me less than 2 minutes to set it up for my TV and DVD player. Now, would I buy a Yamaha HTR-5730 receiver again...? hmmm, no, I don't think so. Try Onkyo.
