Pros: great sounds, compact, good price Cons: no expandability, minimal MIDI, not many onboard effects
The short word on the Yamaha P80
I searched long and hard for just the right piano at the right price. I ended up with a Yamaha P80 and I must say I love it. I have a weighted 88-key 35-pound box that feels and sounds like a real...
Pros: Sound, feel, price. Cons: Girlfriend won't stop playing it.
OK first off, I can't play a single note on a piano.
I purchased this for my girlfriend for her birthday.
Lemme tell you about her. She's been playing piano since she was five, has played at least 2 recitals in college every semester,...
Pros: Light weight, good action, convincing sounds Cons: Wall bug, not easy to change second-layer strings volume. Broke the plastic music stand.
..and no problems whatsoever.. and I play hard. There was an early review below which stated the keyboard had been in the shop four times, broken keys, etc.. either this person got a lemon, or they play unimaginably hard. I play in a classic rock ...
Pros: Nice piano sound, heavy touch, sturdy (over 20,000 miles and it still works). Cons: Pedal sliding, limited sounds
I bought this keyboard so I could practice one summer when I knew I would not be around a real piano. That was 3 years ago and since then this keyboard has become indispensable. Although no digital keyboard will be able to be equal to a good acoustic ...
Pros: Sounds like a Yamaha grand piano, great action and very easy to move. Cons: Sounds like a Yamaha grand piano, WALL WART power supply, fairly fragile.
Great piano. It sounds and feels like a Yamaha grand and no other available keyboard can touch it in this price category. The Rhodes sound is very usable and the Hammondish sound is not too bad either. This keyboard is fragile and has been in the shop...
Pros: Excellent, rich, dynamic piano sounds; portable; sleek Cons: Keys might be a little heavy for non-pianists, Hammond sound could be better; interface
I've been looking for a good stage piano for a while. Looking on zzounds.com and other such music store sites, I looked at Kurzweil, Roland, Korg, and Yamaha. The reviews all pointed to the Yamaha as being the best in the class. Some friends with the...
Pros: The right size, great sounds, basic solid functioning, a terrific instrument in it's own right. Cons: Some may not like the feel.
I love this instrument. It serves me very well as a piano. Although the keyboard feel is not authentic to a real piano I find it to be quite excellent in it's own right.
The simple functions make it a joy to just sit down and play. The...
Simple but reliable instrument by alexander-g ,Aug 17 '07
Pros: Light and compact, simple to use, realistic touch, MIDI Cons: Does not have any speakers
I have been paying on this keyboard since 2000, and I am still using it, very good investment, Yamaha's quality!
It has very realistic touch, in fact I like it more than Yamaha's later version so called Graded Hammer 3 action, as a MIDI control keyboard one can upgrade sound quality using Synthogy grand piano sounds or the like, in short I love it! I would recommend anyone to look at this series P140 is a newer model, try it out!
Pros: Nice sound, easy gig buddy. Cons: Lacks a damper peddle. Could have included a jazz organ setting.
I purchased the Yamaha because the Korg 800 I had been toting around was just too heavy. While the speakers and
the sampled piano sound wasn't quite up to the Korg, the convenience of the Yamaha's greater polyphony and lighter weight more than outweighs the very slight difference in sound. The action is fairly good, too- a little bouncy
on fast repeated notes, but evenly regulated and allowing
for nice dynamics.
Pros: Excellent, realistic feel and sound. Cons: Not your best choice if you are looking for a polyphonic midi controller.
Great instrument for a pianist that wants to practice quietly as well as a piano-only keyboard for jobs. This keyboard ROCKS!
Note: this is not a keyboard with alot of bells, whistles and sounds. It is focused upon the acoustic piano player. If you are looking for a Full-sized sound, feel and action with a small footprint (for an apartment, to take out on gigs) then you have found it with this keyboard.
Once you play this keyboard, NOTHING in this price range even comes close to the quality of this instrument.
