Pros: Loud, exciting atmosphere. Great venue and great area Cons: Food standard but expensive, travelling is a nightmare
Most of the epinions were written prior to 2005 so I thought to give an update. There were major renovations to Lane Stadium since then, notably the expansion of the west side of the stadium. The old press box was removed to create a brand new, fancier ...
This stadium is situated on a beautiful campus in Blacksburg, VA....It is the home of the Virginia Tech Hokies...The stadium is relatively small in terms of most quality NCAA programs of today, but it is very cozy and gets very loud to the opposition in...
Lane Stadium is bigger and better these days. The Hokies have added additional 5,500 seats in the North end zone and additional 1596 in the South end zone to increase the total seating capacity to just under 60,000. The true gem of the stadium is the...
Since the creation of the Big East, the University of Miami has been the dominant football team. They also had the best stadium by far in the Orange Bowl. But over the past few years, Virginia Tech's football program has been cathing it. This...
Pros: Every seat is the best seat in the house. Cons: Only sits 54,000
Lane Stadium is the place to be. Seating is kind of hard to get though (especially with one of the best teams in college football playing). With the alumni on the west side, it is damn neat impossible to get seats. And with the students on the lower east...

Pros: Very friendly, very loud fans; no bad seats; Hokey Pokey at end of 3rd quarter. Cons: Not enough entrances
The Town of Blacksburg has a population of 40K. Lane Stadium holds over 60K, and is always sold out. These people love their Hokies, and it is very obvious from the moment you step out into the stands. The stadium itself is not designed to entrap noise, but neither that nor it's mid-level capacity stop it from being one of the loudest, most energetic stadiums in the nation. As it expands, this stadium is getting nicer, but the amenities are not the draw at Lane Stadium. The food is good, not great, and the seats (at least on the student side) are your typical metal bleachers. If you were to see this stadium when a football game is not taking place, you probably wouldn't be impressed. However, on certain Saturdays during football season, this stadium transforms, and there is no finer place in the nation.
