Classic Historic Stadium and Strong Football Tradition

by Bryan_Carey Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Dec 13 '03
Pros: The atmosphere; The new renovations
Cons: Finding tickets
Ohio Stadium is located on the banks of the Olentangy River in Columbus, Ohio. Home to the Ohio State Buckeyes, this stadium, often referred to as the “Horseshoe” for most of its life, was originally built in 1922 to accommodate the rowdy fans of ...

So maybe I'm partial, but out-of-towner's agree!

by osumin , Oct 25 '00
Pros: beautiful, historic, home of the Buckeyes!
Cons: Parking
Oh, Ohio Stadium....Our campus beauty is a source of pride and joy for students and alumni alike. I have been awarded the luck of experiencing the stadium prior to the major renovations and also, after.

Before, our stadium held old school...

WE'RE NOT A BUNCH OF BUMS!

by factotum Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 20 '00
Pros: Well, a lot of pros went to school here
Cons: cons are found in the NFL
I grew up in this stadium, more or less, so it would be pretty much impossible to be impartial about it. I mean, I met Woody Hayes when I was, like, 6 or 7 and he was still a few years away from losing it. But I've been to lots of stadia, so at least...

You're doing what to Ohio Stadium?!

by edson , Oct 27 '00
Pros: well designed renovations, great tradition
Cons: parking, tickets, construction, tight seats
Venerable Ohio Stadium, affectionately known as the Horseshoe, or often just "the 'Shoe": steeped in so many traditions, the thought of tinkering with it has made many a fan cringe. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks, so...

Horseshoe from Hell

by yencha , Oct 19 '00
Pros: Awesome crowd of over 90,000
Cons: It is tough to get out of Columbus
This stadium is a nightmare to get in and out of in terms of an out of towner, and it is a nightmare to the opposing team, but it is the epitomy of the NCAA experience, the pomp and circumstances, the band and the roar of the crowd...

The Best Darn Stadium in the Land

by gobucs , Oct 23 '00
Pros: awsome personality, huge crowds, with great crowd flow in and out of the stadium
Cons: still in progress renovating previously dank and outdated restrooms
The best college football stadium in the country in my humble opinion. With the new renovations underway, you can't find a better venue to watch college football. The 75 year old horse shoe structure has arguably the most personality and history of...

The renovated 'shoe

by adam8117 , Dec 09 '00
Pros: great fball and atmosphere
Cons: ticket prices
Being a student at THE Ohio State University, I have had many trips to the famed horseshoe, including all of the home games played thus far in the newly renovated shoe. The old shoe was a great place, but nothing compared to the renovated version. When...

The horseshoe

by Adamy1220 , Mar 23 '01
Pros: Great fans, famous building, college tradition.
Cons: Team is a bunch of thugs this year.
Let me start off by warning everyone to pay no attention to Psugrowler's epinion of Ohio Stadium. It oozes with hatred for a Buckeye team that pounded his Penn State Kitteny Lions 45-6 on a cold, rainy day.

Now, on to the stadium. For obvious...

OHIO

by SharonTom , Aug 20 '01
Pros: It is the experience that makes this stadium the greatest.
Cons: Soda $3.00/bottle. Stairs to upper deck are murder. Restroom Lines.
As a graduate of the Ohio State University you may think I have a biased opinion of the stadium, Not really. The seats are crowded and stairs are murder. The wait in line for the restroom wants to make carry a colostomy bag. A bottle of water or a...

Classic Stadium

by psu213 , Jul 28 '01
Pros: History, Classic Design, Loud Fans, Script Ohio
Cons: Old, Lots of bad seats, Penn State always loses, PARKING!
We were there in 1996 for the Penn State-Ohio State game. Seated in B-level so we had an obstructed view (which I think the renovations will change). Other than the fact we got our butts kicked, it was a great experience, and fun place to watch a game....

The Horseshoe

Pros: Unique shape.
Cons: OSU plays there.
As a UofM fan I frequent the stadium but once every other year, however I know the stadium as well as any. The stadium has a very unique shape and a lot of history. It is very easy to find you seat most of the seating is very good.

The Horseshoe Tradition--Ohio Stadium
by dsaurer ,Jul 13 '06
Pros: The Scarlet and Gray Fans, The OSU Marching Band, Great College Football Atmosphere
Cons: The Major Renovations has me very ticked off. You don't mess with tradition.
Beautiful Stadium that is home to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Lots of memories of the great rivalry of UM and OSU. I happen to be witness to 3 rivalry games in my lifetime. It is an experience you will never forget.
