Pros: good reruns, good original series, nice variety Cons: limited airtimes
For all those who think that the SciFi channel is just for those who played RPGs in high school and enjoy advanced Calculus, you couldn't be more wrong. The SciFi we know today is an excellent blend of shows that anyone can enjoy.
The variety...

Pros: great rerun, creative original programming, great movies Cons: absolutely none!
This has to be the best channel ever!!! I mean it. It is the most watched channel in my house, and we have DirecTv's entire package, hundreds of channels. Most of my family are sci-fi fans and we love this channel.
It is great to be able to...

Pros: It's Scifi - I mean, come on! Cons: Not enough anime, older shows, or good original shows.
I welcomed the creation of a SciFi Network. I was even somewhat patient while I waited to have a cable system that carried it. Now nearly all cable companies carry it. The programming has been getting better and better. More original series have been...

Pros: Might be better than the latest election news, but not necessarily Cons: Millions of dinosaurs died, so oil could develop from their corpses, so energy could be generated, to make this film
It was with fear and trepidation that I awaited Sunday evening's start of the new Dune miniseries on the SciFi Network. Yech. Feh. Yuck. Read the book. See the 1984 movie. Take a nap. Watch ice melt, paint dry.
In the sixteen years...

Pros: Improves upon a great saga Cons: More intellectual than action oriented
First off, let me say that I am biased. I absolutely love Babylon 5. Granted I like Star Trek, too, but while Star Trek is episodic, Babylon 5 requires the science fiction novelist's mind to organize the events in each episode to compile the overall...

Pros: Works towards giving the fans what they want! Cons: Too many repeat programming on any given day
The Sci-Fi Channel, through its presentation of both classic reruns and original programming, has something to offer every genre fan. Jumping from horror to the paranormal to aliens to conspiracies, there's bound to be several hours of the day you'll...

Pros: Great concept Cons: Great concept executed poorly
Gene Roddenberry had a great idea for a TV network in the 1970s: play Star Trek as much as you can, intersperse it with new ST episodes, run already released film classics of SF and build from there. Call it the "Star Trek" channel, with...

Pros: Excellent variety of programs Cons: Could use better scheduling
I waited for YEARS, literally YEARS to get SciFi! And I must say…the wait was worth it. Not only do they show many of my favorite science fiction movies, but they also air a lot of original series (some that originally aired on other channels) that are...

Pros: Tons of Orginal programming Cons: Somethings called orginal but not really so.
Next to ZDTV, the SciFi channel gets most of my TV viewing time. With a number of great SciFi movies shown each week, and a large lineup of orignal programming is just some of what SciFi has to offer.
Some of the lineup on SciFi...

Pros: just about everything Cons: wish it was on 24/7
For anyone who thinks this amazing channel is only the haven of dorky Star Trek- worshippers.. you couldn't be more wrong or in for more of a pleasant surprise if you check it out. So many gems here.. my beloved Gothic soap Dark Shadows... oodles of...

Pros: great original series, classic shows Cons: occasionally too many commercials
If you love sci-fi shows that not everyone gets a chance to love, then this is the channel for you.
Space: Above and Beyond is one of my personal favorites, and I was thrilled to see that they are carrying it now. Granted, there are only about...

Pros: Um... it's really cool? Cons: If it went off the air, I'd probably go insane
Ah, finally: a channel devoted to the far-and-away best genre of fiction, sci-fi.
When I first got the Sci-Fi channel, I thought to myself, "Self, this is really cool! Now I've got a channel I *know* can't be bad!" As it turns out, I...

Pros: Quality Original Programming and a willingness to rerun old/canceled series Cons: Lexx is edited; in all shows the cuts between show and commercials is too abrupt
I'm really beginning to love the Sci Fi Channel. I've only really begun watching it as of a couple of weeks ago, but now my Friday nights are devoted to its programming.
One of the things I love about cable is that fact they often repeat...

Pros: More scenes; visually attractive; it's still _Dune_ Cons: stilted acting; silly wardrobes; rushed pacing?

Pros: Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Dark Shadows Cons: bad movies, constant repeats, second rate tv shows, like Kolchack, original programming is poor with a few exceptions. And, of course, the lame name: what idiot decided to call it SciFi instead of SF channel, ScienceFiction Channel, or Speculative Fiction?
The SciFi channel is a great idea. As a fan of science fiction I want a channel dedicated to SF, but this channel doesn't quite make it.
Although SciFi does have some great programming (Twilight Zone, Dark Shadows, Star Trek, Sliders, etc), it...
