Pros: The plane showed up took off and landed. Cons: Imagine being asked for $312 dollars extra each way for a $462 flight round trip.
There is a real problem with Ryanair charging for the extra weight for baggage on their flights. Do not fly this Ryanair. If your luggage weighs more than 6.9lbs you are in for a rude awakening. (Think about when you buy groceries equaling 6.9lbs or ...

Pros: Cheap & reliable Cons: They could do better when things go wrong.
I have titled this 'Value for money' because in our case Ryanair represent very very good value for money. Value for money is obviously subjective so others may not see it our way.
My wife and I are from Dublin but living in Glasgow. We fly to...

Pros: good prices Cons: less service
Not long ago, it used to be rather expensive to fly from Sweden to the rest of Europe. In resent years, competition has increased and the prices are now lower than ever. In 1998, RyanAir opened began flying between Sweden and London, charging 50% lower...

Pros: quick, friendly service Cons: not characteristic of a large airline, and all coach class
Taking Ryanair from France to Ireland is a treat for the pocket book. However, getting from Paris to Beauvais is definately a trek. There is a hard to find bus to get to the Beauvais airport, but I found it rather shady. Afterall, I did want to catch...

Pros: Cost, frequency of flights Cons: Always lengthy delays, in-flight juice/soda not included, old planes
Ryan Air say that they're cheap so you're expecting a small plane, a bit noisy, cramped etc. This is fine considering you're taking a one hour flight for under 100 Pounds. What *is* a problem though is in all the times that I travelled Ryan, they never...

Reasonable attitudes to Customers. Worst airline in Europe.
by ceciliay ,Oct 22 '06
Pros: The price is cheap but with hidden cost brings. Cons: Poor service. Long delays. Obscure airports and VEry very rude attitudes to customers.
Ryanair is the Worst Airline in Europe 4th Year running. There are better budget airlines to travel extensively in Europe like Easyjet and even Go-fly and Bmi baby.
Maureen ( check-in supervisor) from Ryanair Checkin in Scotland said to me:
"I have given you all the information I decide you need to know. You can ask me questions but you won't get an answer. Ryanair is a private company that answers to no one and we are subject to no authorities. We make our own laws and the customers have to abide by it.There is no other avenue to complain because we don't have to listen to any civil aviation or other authorities. So I don't have to listen to your complaints! You can quote me anywhere you like.I get complaints like this all day."
With attitudes like that and only 20mins to overhaul a flight from landing to the next take-off, you can appreciate the fears many people have for their safety as well as the conditions and hygiene on the plane. It will cost you at least £15-£20 each way, just to get to and leave Ryanair's airports. Cheap is not good, if you get abused.

Great value and efficient
by remickd ,May 21 '04
Pros: Outstanding value. Cons: Ryanair does not show upon standard airline pricing sites such as Orbitz, Expedia or Travelocity.
We recently flew Ryanair from London, England to Dublin Ireland. The cost of the ticket was 1 euro!! With taxes and fees the entire trip was closer to about 40 euros for myself and my wife. The plane left directly from Gatwick. Checkin was painless, or as pain free as airtravel can be in these times of increased security.
We also flew from Dublin to Edinburgh, and then from Glasgow to London. Each of the trip segments went smoothly. All of the planes left on time, the aircraft were new, spotless, and the flight crew friendly.
I fly over 40,000 miles a year for business in the United States, Asia, and Europe. Ryanair is as good or better in terms of service as any major airline. The only difference is that you will pay substantially less for your ticket.
If you are traveling in Europe, be sure to look at their website ryanair.com for truly outstanding deals.

Ryanair for value
by johnstark ,Jul 09 '04
Pros: Ease of booking; good cabin baggage allowance; good choice of food/drink onboard Cons: No pre-selection of seats - I would be willing to pay extra for this.
I have now flown several times with this airline and have booked a number of further flights on the strength of that experience. I have found check-in staff to be invariably polite and helpful. The cabin crew are smartly dressed and efficient. The captain has kept us well informed on each flight, particularly if there is likely to be any delay, e.g. for de-icing at Charleroi on 22 December last. The cabin baggage allowance was generous and has now been increased to 10 kg. And on my most recent flight I was invited on to the flight deck at Prestwick by the First Officer. The legroom while not generous is adequate (and I am almost 1 m 80 in height).

A bad experience thanks to a terrible costumer service
by jplosada ,Nov 13 '06
Pros: Relatively cheap flights Cons: Bad service, poorly trained personnel.
We just have a bad experience with Ryanair at Girona Airport (Spain).
Our flight was cancelled without prior notice. Ryanair ground personnel were rude and of little help. None of them provided any explanation for the cancellation. When we ask for a printed document of our ticket reimbursement, we were told with bad manners that they did not care about our problems at all (as it sounds!). Non professional costumer service projects a terrible image of the company.

Ryanair dishonest and not up-front
by herbal14 ,Oct 03 '08
Pros: Still cheaper if you can get through the crap. Cons: Dishonest Cheats
I have just wasted hours trying to organise a holiday on the back of a no taxes £1 flight special offer. After arranging everything and being given the on-line price of £2 a flight, I then go through ridiculous amount of extras and small print - you really have to read this stuff in order to avoid being clobbered with huge bills at the airport. Then because at each stage you have to check the terms and conditions, it then times you out so you have to start the whole process again. After getting through that you are then clobbered with a further £32 just to pay for the thing - even by debit card.
So for each its £8 just to check in, £24 to check in a bag, £8 to not be at the end of the cue getting on and £32 to pay on-line.

Oh how very cheap!
by lizzii ,Apr 30 '04
Pros: Very cheap airfares to an within Europe Cons: Basic travel with basic seats
So i wanted to go to Scotland but didn't want to pay an extortionate amount - welcome to Ryanair. The online facilities were easy to use and it was just as easy to book. No faffing about, just straight foward pages of easy to read info; remember that you do need a printer though as this is a ticketless airline!
Of course being my first flight ever it would have been nice to have the comforts of one of the bigger and more expensive airlines, but Ryanair does just what it says - no more and no less. It flies you to your destination with the minimum of fuss, and it has to be said the minimum of creature comforts, but all in all you could expect a lot less at their prices. Check the website for some really amazing prices, but bare in mind the prices do not include taxes, and this can take a £10 return flight up to about £30, but even so this still seems to be the cheapest around.
Add it to your favourites if you do regular short flights - you could save a fortune.

You get what you pay for.
by theetraveller ,Oct 20 '07
Pros: Cheap fares, many destinations, excellent safety record. Cons: Not so great staff, some unusual airports.
When you think about flying ryanair you think about the No Frills and cheap fares. Which is what this review is about.
ryanair make clear that their service is a No Frills service, They Don't claim to be excellent in customer service, provide meals on flights for free, or imply that they have in flight entertainment on their flights.
Ryanair offers exactly what they say they do. Affordable flights, And yes they may not go to the biggest most known airports, or provide free meals, or excellent customer service, but honestly what to you expect for such cheap fares?
ryanair offers flights that are affordable to almost anyone, Their concept of bringing flying to people that would probably travel by coach, rail, ferry or other form of transport is what their No Frills is all about.
The airine is what it says it is, no frills, pay cheap fares and expect the service that you pay for and that is what I do anytime I fly ryanair I know not to expect great service, or great staff.
If you fly ryanair you should accept that the price you pay for flying cheap is the ryanair experience you get.

Beware the fees, and baggage allowance/charges
by bugsye ,Nov 04 '04
Pros: they make Easyjet look great! Cons: Complete waste of time and money. No customer service at all.
We flew Ryanair from London to Dublin and back. They charged us a total of 200euro for our bags, Easyjet charged nothing for the same bags on our flight from Amsterdam to London even though we were 2kgs over their limit. Our Flight from Dublin to London was 5 hours late, they gave us no reason why our flight was delayed, and no apology either. We had to change gates a total of 5 times as well. As a result we missed our connecting flight back to the U.S. If the flight had been 3 hours late we still would have made it. Ultimately it cost us a total 700euros: 200 for checked baggage in excess of 15kg, 400 (200 x 2) for us to change our tickets on the flight that we missed and another 100 for a hotel next to the lovely Gatwick airport. Literally 60-70% of the people on that flight swore they would never fly Ryanair again. I was one of them. Ryanair, get stuffed!

WORST AIRLINE EVER
by gabbygyrl7 ,Jun 09 '05
Pros: NONE!!! Ended up not saving any money because of the cab ride.... Cons: LOST MONEY, TIME, AND AIRPORTS TOO CRAZY TO SEEM SAFE, NO LINES, JUST CROWDS
Ive flown over 20 times in the past year, and RyanAir was definitely the worst airline.
They have airports outside of cities just for them. The airports are tiny and extremely unorganized.
They have shuttles to get to these airports which cost at least 10 euros, so you don't really save money. They didn't give us any information about the shuttles, and the fact that there is only one for each flight. we got there almost 3 hours ahead of time and the shuttle had left and there was no way to get there but a 120EURO cab ride!!!!! Ridiculous, many other people were in our situation too.
I highly recommend spending the extra 20 euro somewhere else and saving time, money, and hassle. Wish I had gotten this advice, for this was my worst travel experience ever.

NEVER FLY AGAIN WITH RYANAIR
by splashman ,Dec 28 '03
Pros: cheap, plenty of destinations Cons: BAD CUSTOMER RELATION, shy to reply, check in staff need customer relation skills
They lost all my work equipment on route to Hahn, when reported the staff just couldn`t give a damm using a set script that I must contact Head Office. On my return the next day after a waisted journey I attempted to get some help from the staff at Stansted, Hahn what a joke these people are, they also tapped a few details in the computer and said my baggage is on a world trace and I must now get in touch with head office and promptly got up and walked off ??????
Head office have now 5 weeks later told me that we still have a worldtrace but it isn`t our fault you should claim direct from security at Stansted. Basically they have cost me over £2220 so far in lost income and a lost machine, given me BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE plenty of stress and a very NASTY TASTE in my mouth. RYAN AIR WILL NEVER GET ANY GOOD PRESS FROM MYSELF and I will never allow any of my 25 staff to travel Ryan air whilst working on my time.
