Pros: many small and beautiful beaches, interesting landscape, small enough to explore easily Cons: very hot in the summer, "tropical feel" is missing from the typical beach holiday
My husband and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon, staying 7 nights during August 1999. Overall we loved the island. The people were very friendly and almost everyone we encountered spoke English.
We managed to dine in a different restaurant...

Pros: Gorgeous beaches, many nice hotels, scuba/snorkling Cons: too far to drive there
I'll start off by saying that I've been to some pretty nice tropical resorts before -- Maui and Waikiki in Hawaii, Barbados, Cancun, Key West, Siesta Key -- but Aruba is my favorite.
Aruba is small, beautiful, quiet. The beaches with their...

Pros: Pure heaven! Cons: Winds are a little much
My husband and I spend one week in "heaven". I wake up each morning and wish to go back! We stayed at the Bushiri Hotel, which wasn't the best hotel, however it fit our needs perfectly.
I could go on and on about the things that...

Pros: color and clarity of water, no solicitation on beaches, guaranteed nice weather, safety Cons: crowdedness of beaches, island is not scenic
The allure of Aruba for me was the guarantee of sunny, dry weather. I vacationed last summer during the same week (July 4th), and was disappointed by the overcast skies and humidity of St. John's and St. Thomas. This year, we decided on Aruba, and we...

Pros: Absolutely beautiful beaches Cons: Eating can cost you
If you are looking for a constant stir of activity to excite you and rev you up, don't look in Aruba. If you are looking to lounge around all day with no more activity than applying sun screen and rolling over, this is the place. The general terrain is...

Pros: Exotic; Beautiful beaches Cons: Roads are not well-marked
I easily cleared Customs and Immigration. I checked in the Marriott and headed straight for the beach then the bar located in the pool area. You could see tropical lizards running around the pool area. After a little break, I went on a sunset cruise...

Pros: Great getaway from it all Cons: Expensive
My wife and I just came back from Aruba and we loved it. The weather - a much advertised feature of the island - was wonderful. Warm/hot with a constant breeze and low humidity. The beaches are very nice and they are all public, so if you want to get...

Pros: Absolutely Beautiful, Tradewinds, Baby Beach Snorkeling Cons: Not Much To Do Off The Resort (Commercial)
First off, this was an absolutely amazing trip. This was a year after I went to Cancun. Cancun is basically a loud, busy island. Lots to do and people to see. Bars and night clubs and everything is energized. Aruba is a step-down from that. It is quiet,...
