Pros: 1. Petra
2. Dead Sea
3. Nice landscape Cons: 1. Unpredictable weather
2. More expensive relative to other Middle Eastern countries
I. GENERAL
Jordan is without a doubt one of the more moderate Arab countries with regards to religious ideals, level of conservatism and degree of fanaticism. The country is still developing but has a good infrastructure and an adequate...

Pros: Beautiful setting, wonderful spa services, not too expensive Cons: Busy on Friday and Saturdays
Many travelers visit the Dead Sea in Israel. But this large body of really salty water also straddles the Jordanian coast and a number of new spa resorts, including a Marriott, are being built about a 45 minute drive from Amman, Jordan. This is close...

Pros: Petra and other Pilgrimage sites, fantastic diving in the Red Sea. Cons: If you love history, NONE.
If you're planning a trip to Israel or Egypt, I highly recommend you plan on spending a couple of days in Jordan. Jordan is only 45 miles from Jerusalem and 300 miles from Cairo. Jordan is home to the 2,000 years old ancient city of Petra, which was...

Pros: Beautiful scenery Cons: Wished we had a tour guide
Where else in the world can you visit an entire ancient civilization carved out of stone? Petra is beautiful. The entire city lived in the canyons and everything was carved out of stone! If you are going to visit one place in Jordan then it has to be...

Pros: Incredible archaeological sight, infinite hiking on your own Cons: Need a tour guide, be careful
Petra, Jordan is beautiful. It was a vast city carved into the red canyons of Jordan a couple thousand years ago. Everything that you will see there has been completely carved into the actual stone itself. Intricate details, beautiful columns, water...

Pros: Right by the gates Cons: Where do you start?
Review Topic: Accommodations
Anyone going to Petra might be tempted to stay at the one place right by the gates, the old Government Guesthouse, now owned by Forum who also have a main hotel 200 metres up the road.

Pros: Petra is amazing, but it's worth seeing the rest of Jordan. Cons: Far so should be incorporated with another country, perhaps Israel.
Petra is the major draw in Jordan, but I felt seeing Amman and spending time at the Movenpick Spa on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea added to the experience. Driving from the border, you pass what look like three-sided garages, or open spaces that ...
