Pros: Oaklawn Cons: streets are horrible
Hot Springs, Arkansas is quite the tourist attraction. Hot Springs is known for its natural springs, spas, historic hotels, and OAKLAWN. Oaklawn is the subject that I am most familiar with.
My parents used to take me to Hot Springs to...

I recently attended a family reunion held in Eureka Springs Arkansas. It is an excellent family friendly location and the area offers something for just about everyone.

Pros: Razorbacks are the team to follow in Arkansas Cons: Wish we were big enough for a pro team. Well, that doesn't always work out. Chicago is a big city, and look at the sad teams it has to offer (well, that's a cheap shot, but the Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks? Come on. What's going on up there?)
Here in Northwest Arkansas, we've got a lot of foreigners milling around and settling. Indeed, it seems that many folks pack up their carpetbags and leave their homes in Iowa, Kansas, New York, California and other foreign spots and wind up living here....

Pros: mildly entertaining, in a cheesy hero-worshipping kind of way Cons: cheesy, hero-worshipping, fairly dull
If you're driving on route 71 near Bentonville, Arkansas, you are bound to see a billboard or two advertising Walton's 5&10, The Wal-Mart Visitor's Center. Although you may be tempted to visit the mother of all Wal-Marts, our advice to you is to...

Through the valleys of the Ozarks and below Bulls Shoals Dam you will find the crystal clear and chilly waters of the White River. Located in Northern Arkansas the beautiful landscape will put even the most stressed person back to ground zero and lower...

Flying Saucer Pub
Their motto: "No Cr@p on Tap".

Pros: Outstanding food; relaxing atmosphere Cons: Off the beaten path
Bottini's Restaurant is one of those "finds" you happen onto when wandering the country. Other than the local residents, who would expect to find an outstanding (4 star) restaurant in the tiny town of Harrison, Arkansas.
Where, you might ask,...

The summer before last, I decided that we needed to go an a real family vacation before my two sons were too old to go with us and too embarrassed to do family things. Because my sons were capable equestrians, and I had been taking horseback riding...

Pros: Visitors are able to interact with many of the animals. Great variety of animals. Not commercial Cons: No eateries provided. Seems to be a small staff.
Hidden away from the larger areas of Arkansas, about 37 miles from Fayetteville in the State's central west, is a small town named Gentry. The main attraction, and about the only attraction, of Genty is the Wild Wilderness Drive Safari. I was...
