Pros: good eats and a fine sports complex Cons: tough parking and not as nice as in the past
Another chance to venture into the South presented itself this past weekend. Of course, bear in mind that Im a Philly boy born in the NorthEast section of the city and lived most of my life in the Northeast suburbs. When I say head south, ...

Pros: tastes like fatty heaven. seriously. Cons: you'll wake up 5 pounds heavier; long lines
It's 3 am. Two bars and a dance club in Center City, Philadelphia later. Can't really see straight; don't want to go to bed yet. Hungry... need food to soak up the beer...
Most Philadelphians have been effected by these late night symptoms...

Pros: Great food, wonderful history Cons: The food is most unhealthy, the history is far better than the present
Okay, I got in late for this write-off, so I hope I am following the guidelines and adhering to the rules. As far as I can tell, I am to write a glossary for a country or place wherein members might want to visit. Well, South Philadelphia is almost ...

It never...

Pros: Colorful people, great eats Cons: Parking nightmares, some areas need a good scrubbing
I was born and raised in South Philly. I left 5 years ago when I got married, joining the exodus to South Jersey. My family is still there, and I work at Vet Stadium, so I still spend more time in SP then I do in Jersey. I would like to share a bit about...

Pros: Great atmosphere, fantastic food Cons: A little out of the way
The Italian market is a staple of South Philly and the center of the Italian neighborhood. It's a great place to wander around by foot for a couple of hours. The atmosphere is truly incredible, and if you're like me you'll start to picture Rocky Balboa...

Pros: Freshly cooked steak and tasty onions, fresh bread at Geno's Cons: chip on the shoulder at Pat's, but bigger variety
Want a good Philly Cheesesteak? There's only one place to go, Geno's! We've eaten at Geno's a couple of other times on trips to Philly when we lived in the NY Metro area. We've since moved to the midwest, but traveled back east in August '04 to visit ...
