Pros: All of the exhibits are fairly close. Cons: Extra charges mount up on the inside.
This review has been updated and reposted from its original form written nearly three years ago. The Memphis Zoo is one of the best destinations for children of all ages. Memphis is a big city, but it is surrounded by many rural cities in ...
Pros: plenty to look at, clean Cons: tad expensive.
One of the categories I have never really written in is travel, for the pure reason of I never travel anywhere, until I realized the other day I had traveled somewhere- The Memphis Zoo, which is 65 miles west of my hometown, and we have taken our kids to ...
Pros: Wild Cats and Primates exhibits are superb! Cons: Some Animals Needs More Space!
Memphis Tennessee has more than great ribs and blues-it has a wonderful urban zoo that is certainly worth a visit, whether you are a local or a visitor. What is an urban zoo? It's a modern zoo in the middle of the city, limited in space but with a...
Pros: Egyptian motifs/architecture, cool animals, lovely plants, nice diversity. Cons: A little expensive to get in!($9.50)
I visited the Memphis Zoo for the first time just a few days ago, on Saturday, June 23rd. I must say that I was very impressed! I didn't expect the zoo to be so very nice, modern, nor having a great deal of new animal species to see that I haven't seen...
Pros: FUN!! Kids will love it and so will you. Cons: Walk walk walk sore feet
Let me start off by telling you why I was there. I am a Girl Scout leader and I love it. I was taking them on a trip to the zoo with the money they got for selling cookies. There were 9 girls and a few parents that went on the trip. The Memphis Zoo no ...
Pros: Pandas! Komodo Dragons! and all the rest you expect from a major zoo. Cons: If you don't live here and purchase the family deal, it is expensive!
The Memphis Zoo has always been a nice place to take the family. With the new addition of "China" and two cute Giant Panda bears - Ya Ya and Le Le - the Memphis Zoo steps up to a whole new level! Added in the spring of 2003, the Giant Panda exhibit...
Pros: comfortable size for children, plenty of animals Cons: expensive, and goes up every year
"Leeloo Dallas, multipass," chant the kids as I flash the member card at the gate to the parking lot. OK, so media fandom and warped senses of humor run in the family.
And we have a BIG family. Six of us, plus some little buddies who...
Pros: cat country, primate canyon Cons: expensive for a family, needs more work
My first visit to the Memphis Zoo was about 8 years ago. I had just moved to Memphis from Milwaukee which has one of the best zoos in the nation. At that time the Memphis Zoo had little natural habitat. Outside of the entrance - which is a grand...
Pros: New Exhibits are being added, easy to get around. Cons: Very hot in the summer, could use more water fountains.
I have come to love the Memphis zoo. The zoo offers a nice member package that you can purchase for about $70 for a family. It allows you to visit the zoo as much as you like for an entire year. Having a 3 year old makes this worth the price in ...
Pros: Lovely scenery and animals Cons: Expensive food
Going to the Memphis Zoo,which is the closest one to our Mississippi home, has become a wonderful family outing for us since our son was born.
For two adults and a child under two, along with parking, the cost is $20.00. That's not bad to be outdoors...
Pros: Attractive design Cons: Little information to supplement observation
I'm a member of the Memphis Zoo, and I visit the place all the time. In general I think it's a pretty good institution for a city like Memphis, which in general is pretty stingy about investing in public places. Year after year, new aesthetically...
Pros: planty of animals to see Cons: some animals are not available during winter
The Memphis Zoo is a spectacular place to visit. My favorite sight is the
Cat Country, there are a lot of different cat species here. Lions, tigers,
cheetahs, panthers, etc. I enjoy coming to the zoo and just watching the cats prowl around for...
Needs Updating but rather awesome for the area by deafrocker06 ,May 08 '08
Pros: Nice, friendly, clean, very accessible, great variety.. Cons: Fences and some enclosures need remodeling and more coke machines that work...
I like Memphis zoo; it has a nice variety and its all very walkable and accessible. I see zillions of children there having a good time. Some of the enclosures need MAJOR updating and are small Although, they're working on the poor Hippos, but the Wild Cat Corner defently needs more room and better fences. Ex: a cat was trying to get a raccoon one day and we had to evacuate in case it escaped. They also need to fix or remodel there cable fence idea, I was watching one to many children playing on them and if they went through it, its a straight drop into the water...so please watch your children..not everyone is nice enough to save someone else's child from harm!!!!
Pros: Clean, and nice layout. Cons: Need better and cheaper food, the price should be lowered.
Small zoo, only place for food was Backyard burgers, which was overpriced. Good to see once, been to alot of other zoos. This zoo is very small, I was disappointed.
