Pros: Lots of color-coded equipment, machines for every muscle Cons: Pushy salespeople put down other companies, more friendly when they think you have money
My wife and I recently signed up for 24 Hour Fitness. We enjoy the wide assortment of exercise machines and freeweights, and they are in very good condition. Another big plus is that it was in a nice, well ventillated building, so there was no odor....

Pros: Tons of equipment, classes and flexibility Cons: Can be intimidating for a novice, expensive packages
I work nights and like to go to the gym at odd hours, sometimes when I get off work at 7 am, sometimes before I go to work at 11 pm. I was very overweight when I joined and was initially intimidated by the beautiful bodies that are bountiful at 24 hour ...

Pros: You can get a good workout. Cons: Many, sleezy sales staff, dirty, broken equipment, etc.
I want to say that the first issue with 24 Hour Fitness is their sales department. There are sales and promotions all the time but even being a member, the Sales Associates won't give you a price up front. For example, 3 years ago I signed up for a ...

Pros: Location, some workout machines are clean (i'm pretty sure), good monthly price. Cons: Dirty pool. REALLY DIRTY. showers too dirty to clean you. Crowded (sometimes). arrogant, in-your-face sales.
I heard about this place from a relative. I heard it was good. Hmmmm. I still managed to keep respect for my relative. I went to a "24 Hour fitness sport": had tredmills, bikes, workout machines, free weights, (etc.), a basketball court and a ...

Pros: None Cons: No service, they don't care about you, they just want your money.
I originally signed up at Linda Evans. I paid $17 for dues and $20 a month for the kids club for 2 kids. 24hr took over and the problems started. They wanted to renovate the club, but didn't realize it was too small for their plans, duh! So ...

Pros: Friendly and helpful sales staff who get you the best deal possible. Cons: Can be very crowded during peak hours.
After looking around for a new gym, I finally settled for the 24 Hour Fitness in Sunnyvale, CA. The first impression I had was that it was a large facility with a wide ranging selection of options there. The friendly staff greeted me and introduced me ...

Pros: Many locations Cons: Poor maintenance, cleaning and trainers.
I joined 24 Hour Fitness several years ago at the Van Ness location in San Francisco, CA.
The things I liked about the gym when I joined:
1: It was a convenient location. Centrally located, I could work out on the way to/from...

Pros: they're all over the place Cons: pushy, inexperienced salespeople, false advertising, phantom billing
I joined 24 Hour Fitness with, I'll admit, trepidations. The pushy salespeople and "Now or never!" sales pitch turned me off right away, but I hoped to take advantage of the new super club that opened near my house and just use the facility. The whole...

Pros: Convenient location in downtown. Cons: Unprofessional staff
Poor facilities
I was recently pushed into getting a membership at a 24-hour fitness. It was a nightmarish experience. I was set up with a trainer, whose only motivation was to try to bully me into buying pills and supplements so he could get some more commission....

Pros: They're pros at guerilla marketing, high pressure sales, and intimidation Cons: Yes, they are cons too. Some of them look like ex-cons.
Nothing illustrates the old saying "there is no such thing as a free lunch" more than a visit to 24 Hour Fitness. At 24 Hour Fitness, nothing is free. I'm not just talking about memberships, I'm talking about basic human rights... like the right to...

Pros: The best gym ever! Cons: crowded parking but who cares

Pros: Open 24/7, clean locker room, tons of machines, friendly staff Cons: machines sweaty at times, smelly men in tiny clothes
At 5' 7 1/2" and 186 pounds with no energy, just a full time job & part time school, it was time for a change. About 5 years ago I went to 24 hr fitness to "check out the prices" and thought it was wayyyy to pricey, so pricey I can not remember what I ...
