| Volvos flagship sedan offers three models: the base 2.9, the turbo 2.8-liter T6, and the posh T6 Executive. All have an inline 6-cyl engine and 4-speed automatic transmission; T6s have a manual-shift gate. For 2002, engines are slightly retuned in an effort to provide more power at lower rpm. All models gain an in-trunk emergency release and new alloy wheels; T6 and Executive come with 17-inch wheels, which are optional for the 2.9 in place of 16s. Standard features include antilock 4-wheel disc brakes, traction control, front side airbags, curtain side airbags, and leather upholstery. An antiskid system is optional on the 2.9, standard on the other models. A navigation system is available on all. The Executives rear seat is divided by a center console, heated, and angled to provide 2 inches more leg room. It accommodates two passengers.
